Okay, everyone stay calm, but we’ve been getting more and more clues EVERY day that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom could get an opening date VERY soon.
Almost there!
Not only did we recently see some Imagineers actually ride-testing Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, but Disney has been dropping more details about the characters and animatronics we’ll be seeing on the ride. However, we think we just got a HUGE clue that we’ll be getting an opening date for the ride ANY DAY NOW.
NOLA.com recently wrote about how Disney plans to bring the Chase family to Disney World to be among the first to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. If you recall, Chef Leah Chase, who owns the legendary Dooky Chase Restaurant in New Orleans, was the inspiration for Tiana in The Princess and the Frog. Well, there’s a mention that the Chase family trip will happen around the time a media event will happen, in “mid-June.”

So why is this important? Well, media events for new Disney World rides tend to happen around the same time as Cast Member and Annual Passholder early previews. And general opening dates happen very soon after! Plus, we usually know an opening date for new rides BEFORE previews are announced. So having a timeline for the media event gives us a good idea that early previews of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will hopefully open up around the same time.

If we had to guess, we could be looking at a late June or early July opening for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and given how hot Disney World will be around that time, another water ride is certainly needed! We’ll be on the lookout for that official opening date, as well as dates for previews, so stay tuned to DFB for more!

Someone suggest it may be around Juneteenth. I’m sorry excited for the ride to open. We go a few times a week and I always like to stop by and see how far they are progressing
I don’t as leaning on a Memorial Day soft opening. Since that is what they have done in the past when they slate something to open for the summer. That way they work the kinks out before the summer crowds.

The burning question is “Will it be a Virtual Queue when it opens or a paid LL, replacing 7DMT?” It is going to be interesting to see if they have THREE paid LL’s at one park.
