Do you have that one bucket list Disney World restaurant that you WILL dine at someday?
For many, that restaurant is Victoria & Albert’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. This restaurant is ELITE and pricey, but dining there can be a special once-in-a-lifetime experience. Now, we’ve been there several times, so we might be a little biased, but we’re totally not surprised about a new honor this restaurant has been given.
Victoria & Albert’s has FINALLY been awarded a Michelin star, which we think is LONG overdue. Not only that, but Victoria & Albert’s Maître d’Hôtel Israel Pérez was also awarded the 2024 Florida Service Award. Congratulations!
So what does that mean exactly? According to The Michelin Guide, a Michelin Star is “awarded to restaurants offering outstanding cooking.” Five criteria go into deciding which restaurants get awarded: quality of ingredients, harmony of flavors, mastery of techniques, how the chef’s personality is expressed through food, and consistency. So, basically, yes, this is a VERY big deal.
It’s also an even bigger deal because Victoria & Albert’s is now the first and ONLY restaurant owned and operated by a U.S. theme park to have been awarded a Michelin Star. It’s also the only restaurant in Florida to have both the AAA Five Diamond (since 2000) and the Forbes Travel Guide Five Star Award (since 2018). Only 26 restaurants in the entire U.S. hold this distinction! Plus the restaurant has also been given the Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence and the Florida Trend Golden Spoon Hall of Fame — American Regional awards.
Again, though, we’re not surprised and we would give ALL the awards to this dining experience. If you ever get the opportunity to try it out, we highly recommend it. As we mentioned, it is pricey, but for us, we felt it was worth every penny.

I am glad that Victoria and Albert have been recognized with a fully-earned Michelin star. That place is amazing.

Once in a lifetime? Nope. We’ve done V&A 12 times, with #13 coming in September. It’s NOT dinner, but a culinary experience.

I was under the impression that Mr Paul had a Michelin star, am I incorrect? I realize it’s owned by Paul Buccus’s son but I distinctly remembered some well deserved accolades.

No surprise. I have dined at Victoria and Albert’s several times, including the unforgettable five hour meal at the chef’s table. It’s the one restaurant on property in which one is assured of having a quiet, relaxing, and elegant meal. The live harpist also added to the atmosphere. For me, a trip to Disney World would be incomplete without a visit to V and A!

Finally!!! I always thought this restaurant deserved this award. We have dined at V & A, for our anniversary, quite a few times. The service, food, presentation and ambiance is top notch. I’m already looking forward to our next experience! Yes, it is expensive, but if you can do it, Do It!!!

Of course they ate at the chefs table, the menu in the dinning room when we had our 22nd meal there was far less inspiring. I will leave it at that. Victoria and Albert’s should have won this award 10 years ago when the menu was spectacular and the service top notch. Like most things now days after the Covid break the edge is gone not just at Disney but at all levels of travel.

Israel is awesome and we remember him years later. Congrats to him and to V&A’s!
