Hey Disney World, is everything alright? You’ve got us a bit worried…
Nothing puts a smile on our faces quite like visiting Disney World and Magic Kingdom, especially. If you’re like us, you’re OBSESSED with the amazing attractions, tasty snacks, and all the lovable characters The Most Magical Place On Earth has to offer. However, one small thing has us concerned — and you can find it…er…not find it…at the Haunted Mansion.
Change was introduced to Magic Kingdom’s Haunted Mansion last fall with the inclusion of the new Hatbox Ghost. However, that wasn’t the only change. At the beginning of this year, we were riding along in our Doom Buggy and noticed another big change — the floating candelabra in the Endless Hallway was missing. In January, our concerns about the candelabra being permanently removed were summed up with nervous giggles. Now, as we near the end of April, we’re legitimately concerned.
The floating candelabra optical illusion in the Endless Hallway is a Haunted Mansion staple at both Magic Kingdom and Disneyland, which makes its disappearance from the Florida version all the more depressing.
We speculated that the candelabra was removed to not distract from the Hatbox Ghost scene, but also felt it might have been removed for maintenance purposes. After all, if something isn’t working right, Disney will remove it, fix it, and then reinstall it — typically (looking at you, Disco Yeti).
However, as the candelabra’s absence drags on, we can’t help but feel pessimistic about its return. We’re hoping we’re just being paranoid, and that this ride element is simply undergoing a lengthy refurbishment!
If the candelabra reappears or Disney World decides to further add to or take away from this classic and absolutely ELITE attraction, we’ll be sure to keep you updated. In the meantime, be sure to follow us here at DFB for all the latest Disney World news, tips, reviews, and more!

I’d rather have the candelabra in that location than the hatbox ghost. It was a great effect and the hatbox ghost should have been placed later in the ride.

I agree the hatbox ghost should appear where he is noticed further alng in the rie. BUT what about th hanging man in th first room. He is gone, GONE. The sound track says “there is always my way out” and thre is a crack of thunder. I was so disappointed that Disney has gone this far woke.
