There is SO much to do in EPCOT that you might be overwhelmed with choices.
Currently, EPCOT is in the middle of the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival, which has brought beautiful topiaries, LOADS of great food, and a fun scavenger hunt to the park. Plus, there are several great rides in the park! But there are also tours you can take at EPCOT, including a free tour you probably didn’t even know about.
Over at the UK Pavilion, you can take a FREE tour of the English Tea Garden, where you’ll learn about how tea is grown, manufactured, and brought to your own tea kettle.
Two tours are available: a self-guided tour and a guided tour. You can visit The Tea Caddy for a brochure for the self-guided tour, or you can sign up for a same-day 30-minute guided tour: you’ll find a sign letting you know what times those happen: 1PM, 3:30PM, and 5PM.
Well, today’s tour was a little extra special because we got to attend a media event for National Tea Day where we toured the tea garden and had a special meet and greet with Stephen Twining. If that name sounds familiar, Twinings is one of a long line of family members involved with bringing Twinings Tea to the world. Stephen is a 10th generation member of the Twinings family! (And for SO many of us here on the DFB team who are TEA DEVOTEEEEES, this is a huge deal!)
We got to chat with tea ROYALTY (royal-tea??) this National Tea Day as part of a Twinings Tea #mediaevent!
We heard from Stephen Twining, a 10th gen member of the Twinings family! 🫖☕️ We also got to meet Rishi Deb, Head of Tea Innovation, and Vitor Da Silva, Master Blender 🤩 pic.twitter.com/YoxxRvpgks— Disney Food Blog (@DisneyFoodBlog) April 21, 2024
We also got to meet Rishi Deb, Head of Tea Innovation (please let this be my next job), and Vitor Da Silva, Twinings Master Blender. CELEBS!!!
We also indulged in some tea while we were learning. We were served the Iced Lady Grey from Rose and Crown, which is a refreshing (and non-alcoholic) way to stay cool in EPCOT. It’s typically available at the restaurant.
Now, you might not get to meet Stephen Twining the next time you pop into the UK Pavilion, but we have seen him there before, so you never know. But you can check out the English Tea Garden Tour throughout the duration of the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival, which runs through May 27th. (And you totally SHOULD!)
Stay tuned to DFB for more!
