A new casting call has gone up for the Disney Treasure!
The Disney Treasure – the upcoming sixth ship in the ever-growing Disney Cruise Line fleet – is scheduled make its maiden voyage this December. The new ship is going to be chock-full of the kinds of amenities and experiences guests expect out the line, including a new Coco-themed rotational dining experience. Now, there is a Coco restaurant in Disneyland Paris (It’s called Casa de Coco – Restaurante de Familia.) but this is the first ever Coco restaurant on a Disney Cruise ship and the first ever Coco restaurant that will include CHARACTERS! Now, thanks to a casting call, we have a good idea of what characters will be involved.
Plaza de Coco will be one of three included rotational dining experiences for guests staying on the Treasure, and the only one exclusive to the ship (both 1923 and Worlds of Marvel are also on the Treasure’s sister ship the Wish). The theatrical dining experience will be similar to the Wish’s Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure, and feature “a central stage surrounded by dining tables, with performances and show effects that will spread throughout the room.”
Recently, a casting notice went up looking for performers to portray is looking for actors to portray Miguel, Enrique, Hector, Abuelita Elena, Mama Imelda, and Luisa a Plaza de Coco. The notice breaks down specific physical attributes and skills required from performers for each character.
The notice for the casting call, which is taking place in Mexico City, reads in part, “Everyone is invited to the Plaza de Coco, where Miguel, along with Abuelita Elena, Enrique and Luisa Rivera, are cooking up a delicioso Mexican fiesta. Música once divided the Riveras, but now, it brings everyone together! With the strum of an enchanted guitar, Miguel transports his great-great-grandparents, Hector and Mama Imelda, for a Dia de Muertos celebration like never before!”
Casting being in full-swing just gets us even more excited for the upcoming ship’s launch! We can’t wait to check out all the treasures on board the Treasure (sorry, we couldn’t resist) including Plaza de Coco. Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney Treasure news.
