When it comes to planning a Disney World trip, you’ve got a lot to consider.
Which parks will you go to and where will you stay? Where can you find the most delicious eats, and how can you make it onto your favorite rides? But, as it turns out, what you wear just might be the most important decision you make — take it from me. I wore a viral dress all day in Disney World and it was a total disaster — here’s why.
Depending on how the algorithm has decided to present the internet to you, chances are you already know the dress I’m talking about. It’s a pretty basic athletic tennis dress with built-in shorts and pockets, and you can find them at retailers like Amazon, Target, and Old Navy, and from pricier brands like Vuori and Lululemon. The dress is made from moisture-wicking, stretchy material, making it perfect for the parks — or is it?
Also, this is your warning that this post talks about me getting really sweaty, so if you don’t want to read about that — consider yourself warned.
You see, I was ~influenced~ to purchase this dress after seeing it all over my social media, and decided to test it out. At Magic Kingdom. In August. The built-in bodysuit seemed like a good idea, and despite knowing it meant I was basically going to be in nothing but my birthday suit every time I went to the bathroom, it was nothing I wasn’t already used to having worn my fair share of bodysuits out and about.
What I wasn’t expecting, though, was that every time I went to the bathroom I had to quite literally peel this dress off my body because I ended up getting so sweaty throughout the day. If you’ve ever worn a one-piece bathing suit and then tried to take it off while still wet, you know just how difficult it can be. Don’t even get me started on the one-woman circus I created in the stall trying to get this thing back on myself, either.
So, would I recommend this dress? Honestly, yes, I still would — with the full understanding that I’ll need to do some Olympic training to prepare for the next sweltering park day I choose to wear it. You can click the link below to shop!
Ultimately, you know your comfort levels best. The dress I wore did eventually dry out thanks to it being made from athletic material which made it easier any other time I needed to use the bathroom, so I’d still consider it worthy of its virality.
On the other hand, though, a less skin-tight version of this dress might be the solution, like this cotton one. It still has the same look and built-in shorts, but isn’t quite as fitted!

I got a tennis dress from Academy and wore it (mine didn’t come with shorts so I wore my own pair of shorts underneath). It worked fine for me (I’m midsized). My main problem is finding tennis dresses with a built in bra.

Halara makes this type of dress with an elastic around the back of the undershort part. So it’s essentially one piece with a booty drop part.
Tarin says
There is one from Harala that had detached shorts just at the back so you don’t have to disrobe to go to the bathroom!
