Maybe Disney World should be all about fun and relaxation …
But sometimes, the real world calls. For a remote worker like me, that could mean hours spent in the hotel room. Or it could mean trying to be on a call from a quiet spot you’ve found in Magic Kingdom — that suddenly becomes very loud when the Walt Disney World Railroad passes by. Oops.
A couple of months ago, I was convinced I had found a quiet spot to work for an hour or so on the second floor of the Contemporary Resort, only to discover 15 minutes later that a high school band festival was starting up in an adjacent ballroom. 🎶🎺🤯
But recently, I’ve discovered a new favorite work spot in Disney World, and it has everything I’m looking for — a comfortable spot with a chair and table for my laptop, a place to plug in my charger, and, well, snacks. You need a pick-me-up when you’re working, right? Where is this oasis? The Walt Disney World Swan Hotel!
This is a gorgeous resort that is just a boat ride away from Disney’s Hollywood Studios or the back entrance of EPCOT. When you arrive, head into the Swan toward Java and grab yourself a coffee. There are grab and go options for breakfast and lunch here — including sandwiches, salads, and wraps.
Coffee and lunch (or breakfast, or snack) in hand, now you can find a comfy spot nearby to work!Â
You’ll find couches with low tables to work on…
And they all have built-in outlets to charge your laptop, phone, or other devices.
My favorite seating here is at these counters…
I love working here because I still get those vacation vibes, even when I need to be tied to my laptop for awhile! The Walt Disney World Swan and its sister hotels — the Dolphin and the Swan Reserve — are a favorite for vacations when you need to combine work and play. And one of my favorite parts about staying here is that I can quickly get back to fun in the parks after my work is done! (Plus, these hotels are owned by Marriott, and I can earn and use my Marriott Bonvoy points here!)
