Let’s be real. You spend more time at Disney World waiting in lines than you do actually riding rides.
That’s why the queues are a very important part of making the rides and attractions what they are! There are immersive ride queues, interactive ride queues, and even ride queues with BATHROOMS! Today, we’re here to chat about things that are in some Disney World ride queues that desperately need to be added to ALL Disney World ride queues!
We’ll start with the bare necessities.
RESTROOMS!
So far, the only Disney World ride queue with an available restroom that you don’t need a Cast Member to access is Avatar: Flight of Passage. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance has a restroom, but it’s technically backstage and only accessible if you ask a Cast Member to escort you back there.
ALL Disney World ride queues should totally have a restroom. These lines can get LONG, and even if you take care of business before you join the queue, things still happen. Nature still calls! And then, you’re about three seconds away from wetting yourself on the Tower of Terror drops.

Next, we have something that’s more of a luxury but would be GREATLY appreciated.
MISTERS!!!
And no, not the tall, dark, and handsome kind. (Someone please laugh at that joke.) If you’re familiar with the Tower of Terror queue, you know about the cooling mist that saves you heat when you’ve been standing in line for eons.
While a lot of folks don’t appreciate these bad boys (like me when I’m finally having a good hair day at Disney World), they can be super cooling on those hot days — which is IMPORTANT when avoiding over heating. My hour spent with a curling iron can get over it!
You won’t ever actually catch me in line for Tower of Terror. Here’s why!
Water!
Similar to the former point, it gets HOT while you’re waiting in line! Sometimes, you run out of water. That’s when a bottle refill station would really come in handy. There’s currently only one in the Na’vi River Journey queue.
We can see how it might slow down the line moving forward, but it’s worth not being dehydrated! Until we get bottle refill stations in ride queues, remember that you can get free cups of ice water at quick service locations. Use those to refill your bottles!

Last but not least, we have one of the most important ones.
SHADE.
There’s nothing worse than being in line for a ride for an hour when that whole hour was spent under the Florida sun. While many rides have indoor queues or partially-covered queues, we need queues that are covered the whole time, please.
Do you know how quickly one can get a sunburn in just the 15 minutes you’re in an uncovered part of the queue? QUICKLY.

Yessssss! I came here hoping you were going to say exactly what I was thinking! The only thing I’d add is seating. Benches would be great in the lines that are notoriously slow moving👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

I would add that the lines need to be wider at the turnaround points. I use a mobility scooter and have absolutely no problem waiting my turn in line with everyone else. However, many of the lines take moving back and forth a few times to get around the turns at the ends of each zigzag. If the people behind you aren’t paying attention it’s hard to maneuver in line.
