Okay, so who is SO ready to go on a cruise on the Disney Treasure?
Disney Cruise Line has really gone out with this new ship, which will include a Haunted Mansion-themed bar, a Coco restaurant, a Jungle Cruise-inspired lounge, and so much more. The Disney Treasure will also feature a sweets shop called Jumbeaux’s Sweets inspired by Zootopia, and we now have a first look at that sweets shop.
We’ve previously seen concept art for Jumbeaux’s Sweets, which will be serving up 20 flavors of handmade gelato, 16 flavors of ice cream and sorbets, specialty treats, candies, and more. The concept art showed off sculptures of Officer Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde enjoying a big scoop of ice cream at a table.
Well, Disney just revealed a first look at the REAL sculptures that they’re currently working on for the shop. The whole process began with sketched designs, as well as a collaboration between Imagineers and Disney’s Animation team. This is used to create a digital model of each piece. That digital model has measurements that are used to cast the statue in bronze. Then the statue was shipped to Florida to get painted. Here’s a peek at the Nick Wilde sculpture, which is getting some finishing touches done by Jay Abruzzese:
Here’s what the Judy Hopps sculpture is looking like right now:
Once the sculptures are completed, they’ll be ready to be installed inside Jumbeaux’s Sweets. Exciting!
The Disney Treasure is set to make its maiden voyage on December 21st, 2024. We’ll be covering even MORE about the ship as Disney reveals more details, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
