What’s a Disney World trip without something completely unexpected happening?
Unfortunately, we’re used to rides closing at Disney World — refurbishments or otherwise. However, it’s not every day we get footage from inside a broken-down attraction — and that’s just what we have for you today!
A reader sent us footage while evacuating Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Monday, May 6th, 2024 and we have to say — they might’ve lived our not-so-secret dream!
Evacuated off of Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway! Something actually DID stop us this time…🚂 pic.twitter.com/1Zmcye8kGj

It appears something can stop us, after all! Our reader was stopped in the Daisy dance scene and was escorted out of the attraction by Disney World Cast Members.
An unfortunate reality is that Disney World rides can and will break down from time to time. Fortunately, there are some upsides! Cast Members will usually reimburse you with a free Lightning Lane pass that is eligible on most rides and you can catch a glimpse of some of the ride behind-the-scenes, especially when the lights are turned on!
When it comes to Disney World malfunctions, it’s all about finding the silver lining, right? We think it would be really cool to see the inner workings of a fun ride like Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway and then be rewarded with a Lightning Lane! What do you think?
As always, we’ll keep you posted on Disney World ride updates as well as anything and everything Disney World, so stay tuned here at DFB for all the latest!

If there is a ride problem do you get a pass to get on again after it’s fixed?

A few years ago, we had this happen on Thunder Mountain. Right after we boarded the train, we were told the ride is being shut down. As we were departing, we were given a Fast Pass ticket for the same ride (this was before Genie+ & Lightning Lanes). Since the ride was expected to be down for the rest of the day, we’d have to wait until tomorrow to use it. Unfortunately, that was our last day at Disney – so we didn’t get to use it.
