UPDATE 5-6-24 11:30AM ET:
Disney has now removed Tiana’s Bayou Adventure from the “open rides” list on the My Disney Experience app. This does not necessarily mean that the ride will not be open during the event; it just means that Disney is not yet ready to commit to it being open at this time.
In fact, we’re still pretty sure that it will be open. Here’s why: 1) Disney originally had it listed. Usually if that happens, it was going to be there eventually and someone just jumped the gun. 2) MNSSHP runs through October 31st. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is supposed to open “this summer,” so it will definitely be open before MNSSHP finishes its run in 2024. 3) Splash Mountain was always open during MNSSHP, so reason would dictate that Tiana’s would follow suit. 4) The Tiana’s Bayou Adventure media event is scheduled for mid-June. We’ve never — in our 15 years of doing this — seen a ride not open until two months after the media event. Usually it opens within a week after the media event. So, again, reason would dictate that the ride will, indeed, be open in time for the first MNSSHP date.
We will continue to keep an eye on Disney’s Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party ride lists and will let you know immediately when/if Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is added to the confirmed schedule.

Disney has just released a BUNCH of news about Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!
We know about NEW character meet and greets, we know that an UBER POPULAR souvenir will be back this year, and we know that unfortunately, prices are going up a bit this year. But we JUST LEARNED that a brand new ride could be available during the party! Let’s check it out!
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a special ticked event in Magic Kingdom. The party has a Halloween parade, special fireworks, trick-or-treating in Magic Kingdom, exclusive merchandise and food, and more! This year, the party will take place on the following dates:
- August 9, 13, 16, 20, 23, 27, 30
- September 2, 6, 8, 10, 13, 15, 17, 20, 22, 24, 26, 27, 29
- October 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 14, 15, 17, 18, 20, 21, 24, 25, 27, 29, 31
One of the most fun things about parties you need a special ticket for in Disney World is that the capacity in the park is reduced, and that means shorter lines for rides! Now, not all the rides are typically open during a party, but a good amount of them are. In 2024 we’re learning that the Magic Kingdom’s newest ride — Tiana’s Bayou Adventure — will be open!
The party will be a great time to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure! It opens this summer, and will be very popular. We don’t yet know if Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will use a virtual queue when it opens, but we expect that it will. Disney World has used virtual queues for new rides that have opened recently — including TRON Lightcycle / Run and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
You join a Virtual Queue using your Disney World app, and you’re put into a “boarding group” at that time. When your boarding group is called, you have a window of time to get in line for the ride. This keeps you from waiting hours in line for a popular ride. The Virtual Queues typically open at 7AM and 1PM each day, and you can try for a spot in the virtual line at that time. BUT, last year at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, there was an additional virtual queue drop at 6PM — and it was ONLY for people who had tickets to the party.
Disney has not confirmed a virtual queue for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, but this is how it might work for the party if they do!
Here’s How the Virtual Queue Worked During Last Year’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
