We hate to be the bearer of bad pool news, but here we are. 😞
Doubloon Lagoon at Port Orleans — French Quarter is one of our FAVORITE pools on Disney World property. It’s so much fun, with a a 51-foot long water slide that looks like a sea serpent, a whirlpool spa, and Mardi Gras decorations. The pool closed back in January for a lengthy refurbishment and stayed closed through April 2024. Well, the pool is closed again.
Yes, “due to unexpected maintenance,” Doubloon Lagoon Pool is currently CLOSED. However, Disney said that the spa and children’s activity area remain open from 10AM to 11PM.
Disney also said, “During the closure, shuttle service will be provided to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, where guests can enjoy the Ol’ Man Island Pool.” Shuttle service to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort will run from 10AM to 11PM.
This poor pool cannot catch a break! We don’t know when it will be back open, but the good news is that Ol’ Man Island is still plenty of fun, and provides lots of shade AND sun. It’s a happy medium!
The good news is that in most cases, unexpected maintenance tends to not last as long as scheduled maintenance. Hopefully, things can be resolved quickly!
