Pixar Fest is ON now through August 4th at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, and this year they’re celebrating with NEW food booths!
Pixar Fest includes lots of entertainment in both parks, including fireworks, a parade, and even dance parties. But we are so excited for the food this year! Now, it’s time for some pasta and Italian eats at the Portorosso Pasta booth at Disney’s Pixar Fest. This booth is inspired by the film Luca— let’s check it out!
Menu
The Portorosso Pasta booth has three items on the menu — all NEW for Pixar Fest!
It includes Portorosso Pesto Pasta, Sea Monster Lemonade, and the Silenzio Limoncello.
Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself!
Eats
First up is the Portorosso Pesto Pasta for $8.25 featuring ribbon pasta tossed in basil pesto with potatoes and green beans. It looks good enough, but honestly it was a bit of a let down.
Frankly, this pasta was bland and dry. We think this would have been better with fresh green beans as opposed to the freeze-dried ones. The potato topping is almost like potato chips. We’re still not sure how we feel about that. We didn’t hate this dish, but it’s not amazing either.
Drinks
Next up are two new beverages, including the the non-boozy Sea Monster Lemonade for $7.50 made with lemonade, white grape juice, and peach syrup garnished with blue citrus mango jellies.
This is such a fun drink. It’s sweet and sour and the jellies are a great addition (and way better than popping pearls). The peach flavor is light — we just got a hint of it with each sip.
There’s also the Silenzio Limoncello! for $17 made with Limoncello, amaretto & Aperol liqueurs, blood orange syrup, lemonade, and house-made oregano tea garnished with micro daisies.
This drink is pretty heavy on the amaretto, and we thought the oregano flavor was a little off-putting. We really wished there had been more blood orange flavor. In the end, it almost tasted floral.
If you enjoy floral drinks, then you might really enjoy this! However, it was not our cup of lemonade.
OVERALL
The Portorosso Pasta booth was a hit and two misses for us. The pasta just wasn’t that great and the alcoholic drink was a little off for our tastes, but we did really enjoy the non-alcoholic drink! So if you’re headed to this booth, at least be sure to check that out.
Stay tuned for more fun from this year’s Pixar Fest at Disneyland!
