A new(ish) upscale experience has debuted on the Disney Cruise Line.
Many longtime Disney Cruise Line guests are familiar with Palo, the steakhouses present aboard the Magic, Dream, Fantasy, Wish, and Wonder. Unlike the rotational dining options on these ships, a Palo meal is not included in a Disney Cruise package and is instead an upcharge option requiring a separate reservation. Despite this, the steakhouse is one of the line’s most popular, adults-only offerings. Now, Disney’s added even more to it.
In recent months, the Disney Cruise Line has begun offering a new experience at Palo: Prima Notte. We say “new(ish)” because we have seen this since late 2023, but Disney has recently shared it as “new.”
Offered in two sessions on the first night of a sailing, Prima Notte is a wine-tasting session that pairs high-quality wines and handpicked bite-sized food offerings including sliced herbed yellowfin tuna, Snake River Farm wagyu beef, and a blood orange chocolate mousse served over a dusted chocolate disc. The event is hosted by the Palo Steakhouse sommelier, who provides information on the wine and food pairings, which remain the same at each session and on each ship.
Prima Notte costs $85 per guest (before gratuity). As mentioned above, the tasting is offered twice on the opening night of the cruise – at 6:45 or 8:30pm – which leads to this in-demand event often selling out quickly. Booking for Prima Notte opens up on a sliding scale for various tiers of passengers, including:
First-time guests: 75 days prior to sailing
Silver Castaway Club Member: 90 days prior to sailing
Gold Castaway Club Member: 105 days prior to sailing
Platinum Castaway Club Member: 120 days prior to sailing
Pearl Castaway Club Member: 123 days prior to sailing
Concierge Guests: 130 days prior to sailing
This Disney Cruise experience only elevates Palo’s reputation as the most exclusive dining option in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney Cruise Line updates.

Get your Palo reservations on Pirate night on 4 night cruises. Pirate night meals in rotational dining are substandard and the same in every rotational location. Palo brunch is also wonderful. Make sure you go to Palo.
