EPCOT has been going through a massive transformation, and it’s all finally opening on June 10th with the opening of CommuniCore Hall & Plaza!
We’ve already welcomed the new Creations Shop, Connections Cafe & Eatery, the new World Celebration Gardens, and Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana, EPCOT’s newest attraction. But, it seems as though something may already be amiss at this new walkthrough experience and we’re telling you everything we know.
On a recent trip to EPCOT, we decided to take a stroll through the lovely Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana attraction. This water-based, walkthrough experience is the newest attraction at EPCOT, and it’s both gorgeous and educational. Visitors walk through lots of greenery and learn about the water cycle through interactive demonstrations.
But, on our most recent visit, we noticed that the final element of Journey of Water was behind construction bushes!
We spoke with a Cast Member who couldn’t give us an official reason behind the closed-off portion of the attraction, but they did say that it wouldn’t be unavailable for long.
We’ll be keeping an eye out for any additional updates on this attraction and will let you know once it’s back up and running at its best! For now, though, you can still enjoy the rest of the attraction and the nearby Moana meet and greet.
Stay tuned to DFB as we continue to bring you the latest updates and more news from Walt Disney World!

This entire so called attraction is a flop. The sooner Disney takes it down, the better. Please do not re-imagine this, it is a huge waste of Disney talent

I just watched the Utube video of Fantasy/Tokyo and it was fantastic! AJ even said the Imagineers went 150% building it. How come so much stuff breaks down in WDW and why do we pay high prices for entrance, only to have some of the best rides broken and shut down? Someone has to start working on upping our WDW Parks.

Someone asked Mark Twain what he thought of the work of composer Richard Wagner. Twain replied, “The funny thing about Richard Wagner’s music is its a whole lot better than it sounds.” Same too for this attraction. The Journey of Water is also overhyped and if you have walked through the attraction once, no need to go back. I find this sad given what a wonderful feature-length animation story Disney produced in Moana, one of the last few good Disney creatives.

This was a quick one and completely done for us. Not wasting more park time on it.

I am in the minority here. I enjoyed the Journey of Water. It is a quick walk-through attraction that, besides not taking up a lot of your day, also offers a welcome respite from the Florida heat. There are good photo opportunities, the water elements are fun for kids of all ages, and watching the younger children enjoy it always makes me smile.
Is it the most exciting spot in the park – clearly not. But it was worth my time, everytime.
