We’re officially headed into the HOT, HOT, HOT months at Disney World, and that means one thing.
We get like, five times more likely to seek out fun drinks as soon as it gets hotter at Disney World. There are so many great spots to grab a refreshing bevi, whether you’re looking for something alcoholic or something safe for our underage or sober friends! Barefoot Pool Bar is over at the Lava Pool at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Here, you can find both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as well as some small bites. Barefoot recently got some NEW bevies, so we’re headed to check them out! You in?
The new drinks on the menu include the POG Mimosa, the Coconut Mocha, the Pear-fect Drink, and the Island Hideaway. We got ALL of them, and we’re here to tell ya what we think!
First, we’ll start with that POG Mimosa! If you’re unfamiliar, POG juice is made of passionfruit, orange, and guava, and is served at many restaurants at the Polynesian and across Disney World property. The mimosa version features Chateau Ste. Michelle Brut with Minute Maid® Passion Fruit Orange Guava Juice. This bad boy is $15.
This is your typical POG drink but heavy on the bubbles! It has a nice, subtle sweetness but is nothing overly special. You can get this at the restaurants that serve POG juice, but it’s extra nice to have it at the walk-up bar. If you like mimosas, you’ll probably like this.
Next up, we’re trying the Coconut Mocha, which consists of WÓDKA Vodka, SelvaRey Rum, Joffrey’s Coffee™ Cold Brew, Cream of Coconut, and Vanilla. This one is $17!
This one is very sweet and creamy! The only taste is the coconut which is slightly sweet and a bit nutty. It has that typical tropical flavor which is perfect if you’re staying at the Poly and lounging at the pool. However, it’s nothing to really go out of your way for.
Next up, we have two non-alcoholic beverages! The first one is the Pear-Fect Punch for $5.99. This is a concoction of Lychee, Desert Pear, Ginger Beer, and DOLE® Pineapple Juice.
This reporter is IN LOVE with anything that has the sweet pear syrup inside it. It has the same syrup as the Prickly Pear Margarita in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and it’s technically seasonal. We really love it. It’s very sweet, and might be too sweet for some, but it has a bit of a ginger-y flavor at the end with a bit of an aromatic hint. This was the best drink we had here!
Last but not least, let’s try the Island Hideaway! This is Orange Juice, Lime Juice, South Seas Blend, and DOLE® Pineapple Juice and is $5.99.
This is the perfect non-alcoholic tropical punch! It’s different from POG juice for sure, with the main difference being that it’s pineapple-forward. There’s also some tartness that comes from the lime! The south seas blend mentioned in the menu is actually mango, guava, and ginger, so there are subtle hints of those as well. The ginger is very gentle and doesn’t give that “burn.” This is a great option if you love fruity drinks!
So…should you grab these? Well, if you’re staying at the Polynesian or you’re having a resort hopping day, go for it! They’re very yummy drinks and we found them to be worth the money spent. However, they’re not necessarily worth a trip out of your way to grab them.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated with more Disney news, so make sure to follow along so that you’re always in the loop and never miss a thing.
