We’re getting closer and closer to a NEW ride in Disney World!
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has been under construction in Magic Kingdom since early 2023, but it’s set to open in just a few short weeks. We’ve been watching the ride closely for any updates and news, and during a recent visit, we took a very close notice of the ride vehicles!
In case you need a reminder, here’s what the old Splash Mountain logs look like. They were made to look like logs with seats carved out, and they had Br’er Rabbit sculptures on the front of them.
We noticed a while ago that the rabbit statues had been removed, but now it looks as if the logs may have seen some touch-ups. What do you think? Does the paint look fresher to you?
It’s possible the difference between photos is from some external factor (like water or the lighting outside that day), but the “wood” color seems to be a little bit lighter on this iteration of the logs. Less “forest” and more “driftwood in the bayou.”
But outside of that, the vehicles look pretty much the same as they did before! They have the same lap bars and seating configuration.
We can’t wait to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in a few weeks! If you want to check it out, previews are available for select groups, and then the ride officially opens on June 28th.
We’ll make sure to keep you in the loop with any more updates on this ride. Stay tuned to DFB for the latest!

I just wish they had changed the ride vehicle to make it easier for those of us with knee & hip issues – I can’t get into that log or the Space Mountain vehicle either. Would love to see how they reimagined the ride.

We are looking forward to checking out Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. We know we will be making the inevitable comparisons to Splash Mountain and Song of the South. We are so old fashion, we still call Studios, MGM!

When I was at MK a few weeks ago, the ride vehicles were coming down one after the other. I couldn’t see if there were any riders because it was quite dark. It was after 11:00 PM and I was on my way to Pirates before it closed and couldn’t stop.

As long as they gave those Log boats some Much needed cleaning and de-mildewing, I’ll be happy with them leaving the boats.
But I hope they at least repaired the ones that kept sinking.

Yes, I agree, the wood looks lighter and the rabbit is gone of course. But the rest of it looks the same as far as I can tell. Can’t wait to ride this.

It’s almost as if one photo was taken at 2:06 PM in the afternoon and the older photo was taken at 10:30 AM with different lighting
