We are absolutely loving Pixar Fest in Disneyland Resort.
All the new dining options, entertainment offerings, and everything in between are giving us LIFE and the fun isn’t stopping anytime soon! We headed over to Paradise Garden Grill to check out their new menu offerings for the festival, and there are definitely a few you don’t want to miss.
Paradise Garden Grill is a quick-service location in Disney California Adventure, and thanks to the festival, there are multiple new items on the menu to try!
If you’re looking for something sweet, you’ll want to grab the Street-style Watermelon for $6! This may just be watermelon with lime juice, chile-lime seasoning, and chamoy, but it’s so fun! It’s refreshing while being sweet and tart at the same time. It’s really messy, though, so don’t get it on yourself or you’ll have an immediate stain.
There’s also the Huarache on the new menu for $12.99. This is made with Soy-Based Chorizo Beans and Seasoned Steak Tips, seasoned with Lettuce, Cheese, Avocado Crema, and Tomatillo Salsa, served with Spanish Rice and Refried Beans.
Unfortunately, this was a major no for us. The steak tips were a very strange texture — almost like a mushroom, and we were NOT fans. However, the veggies and toppings were great!
You can also grab the Carnitas Wet Burrito for $13.99! This is made with house-made pork carnitas, Spanish Rice, Refried Beans, Cilantro, Onions, Salsa Verde, and Salsa Roja. This was very good, but we did feel it was a little too heavy on the onions — seriously, there were SO MANY.
Otherwise, the flavor here is great and we enjoyed that it wasn’t too cilantro-heavy. We also loved the tortilla chips this came with, because you could use it to scoop up the toppings when it fell apart. We also preferred the green salsa over the red salsa, as the red salsa tasted a little smoky.
Our favorite option of the new menu by far though was the Chile Verde Chicken Flautas for $13.99! These are topped with Avocado Spread, Shredded Lettuce, Crema, Queso Fresco, Tomatillo Salsa, and Pickled Onions, and is served with Spanish Rice and Refried Beans. These crispy flour tortillas were filled with moist chicken and had so much flavor! The rice and beans were great as sides too — overall, this is really a MUST GET!
Al Pastor Tacos are also on the menu for $13.99. These are Pineapple-Achiote-marinated Pork Tacos with Avocado Spread, and Tomatillo Salsa, served with Spanish Rice and Refried Beans.
While we think these are good, they’re not as good as the Birria Tacos from Cocina Cucamonga. Our tortillas were cold, and we don’t think they were EVER warm. There’s a lot of flavor here, but we think it would be much better with warm tortillas!
Lastly, we have the Carnitas Bites! While they look nothing like the photo on the sign, these are very tasty and perfect for sharing!
Overall, there are some really solid options here, so we suggest stopping by to give them a try before they’re gone!
