Disney World is a pretty magical place.
And while there are countless guides and tips on how you can maximize your time there, sometimes it’s just as important to break the “rules” and let yourself enjoy Disney World in your own way. So, let’s go over five Disney World “rules” that we can’t help but break (and why that’s perfectly okay).
Trying Something New Every Time
We know that one of the “rules” is that we should always be adventurous and try the new and unique foods at Disney World, but let’s be honest. Sometimes, you’re really just craving the comfort of your favorites.
Whether it’s some chicken tenders, a juicy turkey leg, or that iconic Dole Whip, indulging in your go-to snacks is 100% part of the Disney World experience, so don’t feel guilty for skipping the new eats in favor of your tried-and-true favorites.
Rope Dropping Every Morning
Our next “rule” would have you rope-dropping (getting to the park before it officially opens so you can be among the first inside) every single day while you’re at Disney World. Now, we’re not coming for those who do this because it’s definitely a popular strategy to maximize your day.
But let’s face it, Disney vacations can be exhausting, and sometimes you need a slower start. If you skip the early morning rush, you’ll find yourself having a more relaxed day. Plus, arriving later means you can stay later, often enjoying shorter lines in the evening.
Remember, it’s your vacation, and it’s okay to prioritize rest and relaxation over the hustle of rope-dropping.
Following Your Schedule Exactly
The reality is that you typically have to plan pretty meticulously for a Disney World trip. However, sticking to that schedule like glue can really suck all the spontaneity right out of your visit.
We’re here to encourage you to not be afraid to ditch that schedule when something catches your eye or you feel like taking a break. You’ll find that a little spontaneity can lead to some unforgettable experiences.
Always Try the Latest Attractions
Yeah, we’re not going to lie — the pull of the newest attractions is strong and there’s something to being able to experience the latest rides. But you’re almost certainly going to encounter the longest lines and largest crowds at these experiences.
Don’t feel pressured to have to wait in those long lines for the newest attractions. There’s nothing wrong with sticking to your personal favorites, even if they’re classic rides like Pirates of the Caribbean or It’s a Small World.
Besides, those rides are just as fun and tend to have much shorter lines!
Staying for ALL the Nighttime Shows
We’re just going to come out and say it — Disney World’s nighttime shows are spectacular! But sometimes you just need a quiet evening.
Don’t feel guilty about skipping a show and heading back to your hotel. Listen, a good night’s sleep will make a world of difference for your next park day.

I have a serious question. Where do you find a juicy turkey leg? The few times I have eaten one, it was more like a liquid smoke flavored turkey jerky leg
