Country Bear Jamboree was one of the opening day attractions at Magic Kingdom, opening alongside the park on October 1st, 1971.
Last year, Disney announced that the attraction would be closing to make room for a new, updated version of the show — and we’ve been keeping an eye out for every update we can get since then! Disney just shared a sneak peek and more details of what we can expect from this retheme, but now we’ve got another clue that things are moving along.
We’re taking another look at recently filed permits for Disney World to get an idea of what sort of work may be going on around the property — here’s what we found this time around.
Disney World has filed a new permit to install signage at Grizzly Hall, the home of the Country Bear Jamboree! This is especially exciting because the original sign has gone missing, so hopefully a new sign will be put in its place soon.
The original Country Bear Jamboree gave its final performance on January 26th, 2024. The new version of Country Bear Jamboree, the Country Bear Musical Jamboree, is set to debut in Summer 2024. While we don’t know exactly what the refreshed show will look like yet, other than that the bears will sing classic Disney songs in new styles like country, rockabilly, and bluegrass. We also just got a sneak peek of some of the bears’ COSTUMES!
The refreshed attraction will be a take on classic variety shows found in Nashville, Tennessee, and Nashville musicians are involved in the new arrangements. The name of the show is receiving a slight tweak to go along with the new version as well. Instead of Country Bear Jamboree, the new version will be called Country Bear Musical Jamboree.

A permit is needed to erect a SIGN? And, just where and to whom is this permit required? Doesn’t Diz have its own building code?
