This is NOT a drill: Disney just shared a sneak peek INSIDE the new Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ride!
We were watching the trailer for the second episode of Disney’s We Call It Imagineering show and were super excited to see a brief sneak peek at the brand-new ride (which is opening on June 28th) included in the short preview! Check it out!
Disney’s We Call It Imagineering show features Imagineers and their stories, including how they design, innovate, and build new rides and attractions. The show is on the Walt Disney Imagineering YouTube channel, and the preview for episode two came out today. Here it is — watch closely for that sneak peek at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure!
Although it’s a quick preview, we got to see a few ride scenes, including this one inside…
…and a quick POV video of the boat going under a “Tiana’s Foods” sign!
One more quick scene showed some of the Imagineers testing the ride. It looks like the inside of the ride will be covered in lush plants (just like it is on the outside), with some even hanging from the ceiling!
It makes sense that Disney would highlight the new ride since a lot of Imagineers have had a hand in the extensive updates and re-theme. With just one month to go until the ride’s opening, fans are getting more and more excited!
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is opening in Magic Kingdom‘s Frontierland on June 28th.
The ride takes visitors on an adventure with Princess Tiana, and the storyline picks up “after the final kiss” of the Princess and the Frog movie. Tiana has made her dream come true with her very own restaurant, and she needs our help getting ready for a big Mardi Gras party.
The ride will still have a thrilling 5-story drop (just like Splash Mountain did), and it will last about 11 or 12 minutes.
Earlier this year, we were invited by Disney to get an in-person look at some of the amazing new animatronics that were created for the ride. There will be several different Tiana animatronics throughout the ride, along with Charlotte La Bouff, Mama Odie, Prince Naveen’s brother Ralphie, Tiana’s mom Eudora, and more.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be using a virtual queue when it opens this summer, and you can join the queue using the My Disney Experience app. Note that a standby line will NOT be offered when the ride first opens, but it may switch from a virtual queue to a standby line later on, depending on demand.
Learn how to join virtual queues in Disney World here.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will also be available as an option on Disney Genie+ (it will NOT have an Individual, a la carte Lightning Lane). To ride, you can purchase Genie+ for Magic Kingdom (or get the multi-park Genie+ option) and reserve a Lightning Lane for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
Some lucky people get to preview the ride before it opens. Check out more information about those previews here:

This is just a refurbished Splash Mountain done for strictly political reasons. I can’t believe the hype. Virtual Queue?

If I wanted to look at a bunch of fake plants I could go to Hobby Lobby for free.
