Hey, y’all. We’re sorry we have to bring you this sad Magic Kingdom news.
It’s official — one of our favorite ways to get on Magic Kingdom‘s most popular rides without waiting in line is now SOLD OUT.
Disney World hosts special events throughout the year called Disney After Hours. In 2024, these have been offered at Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT. Now, however, all of the 2024 dates for Magic Kingdom After Hours events are completely SOLD OUT.
This year, the Magic Kingdom After Hours events took place on select nights between January 11th and June 27th. It’s possible that Disney will announce more 2024 dates, but they likely won’t because Magic Kingdom is hosting Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on select nights starting in August.
After Hours events have limited capacity, which means guests get to hop on those popular rides with little to no wait.
Rides that were open during the Magic Kingdom event include the following:
- Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
- Haunted Mansion
- “it’s a small world”
- Jungle Cruise
- Peter Pan’s Flight
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
- Space Mountain
- The Magic Carpets of Aladdin
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- Swiss Family Treehouse
- Enchanted Tiki Room
- Country Bear Jamboree
- The Barnstormer
- Dumbo The Flying Elephant
- Mad Tea Party
- The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh
- Mickey’s Philharmagic
- Prince Charming’s Regal Carrousel
- Under The Sea — Journey of The Little Mermaid
- Astro Orbiter
- Tomorrowland Speedway
- PeopleMover
- TRON Lightcycle / Run
There was also an exclusive fireworks show (Enchantment!) and complimentary snacks, including ice cream, popcorn, and bottled drinks.
If you’re disappointed to miss this year’s Magic Kingdom After Hours event, you can still get a ticket to After Hours in Hollywood Studios or EPCOT! Note that these are extra-ticketed events, meaning you have to buy the After Hours ticket separately from the park ticket.
At time of writing, Hollywood Studios has available After Hours dates on May 29th; June 12th, 19th, and 26th; July 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st; and August 7th, 14th, 21st, and 29th.
EPCOT has available dates on May 30th, June 6th and 20th, and July 18th.
Since this option to skip the long waits in Magic Kingdom is now unavailable, you might want to consider purchasing Disney Genie+ on your next visit. Genie+ allows you to make Lightning Lane reservations throughout the day, which means you get to skip the standby lines for those rides. Note that some of the most popular rides are not included with Genie+ and instead have Individual Lightning Lanes, which can be purchased a la carte.

I visit the MK several times a month. After viewing HEA in Lib. Sq I mosey on over to the JC, which usually is a WALK ON! The same goes for Pirates and HM. As for Big T, you won’t
havemuch of a wait. In fact, about six weeks ago I rode it FIVE TIMES IN A ROW- without getting out of my seat!!! The secret to getting such “rerides” is to sit as far in back in a train as possible. If, upon your return to the station, no one is waiting to board, you just remain seated and go around again!

Done both the HS and Epcot after hours events and they are worth it! You an knock out so many banger rides with little to no wait time, and TBH, the parks just have a different vibe at these events (DJ at Epcot??? Wild!)
