If you’re looking for a way to get your snack on at Disney World, but you don’t wanna spend those big Disney bucks, then you’ve come to the right place!
There’s nothing we love more than letting you in on our favorite snacks to get at Disney World. If there’s one thing we’re passionate about, it’s snacking. But something we love even more is letting you in on secret snack hacks that can save you some moolah that will make both your stomach and your pocket very happy.
Now, you’re probably wondering what a ‘snack hack’ is. Well, my friends, this might change your whole outlook on snacking at Disney World! Snack hacks consist of buying pre-existing snacks at any quick-service location or kiosk in the parks and combining them with an extra snack or ingredient to elevate the meal, like ordering a side of plastic cheese for your corn dog nuggets (which if you haven’t tried, you need to ASAP!). Think of it like ordering from the Starbucks ‘secret menu’; they have all the items in stock but you’re just customizing them in a way that adds some extra flair to your typical order. However, with these hacks, understand that you will have to assemble them yourself.
For this $5 snack hack, you’ll need to head over to Tomorrowland. If you’re at the Magic Kingdom and you’ve got a rumbly in your tumbly — this will probably be perfect for you.
How To HACK IT: ALL the DFB Disney Snack Hacks!
Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café is a quick-service restaurant inside Tomorrowland that offers typical American fare such as cheeseburgers, sandwiches, chicken tenders, salads, and much more. It’s located right in front of Tomorrowland Speedway and near the Mad Tea Party attraction. It’s a popular eatery at the Magic Kingdom because of its vast amount of seating and out-of-this-world entertainment by the musically talented Sonny Eclipse! This spectacular alien animatronic is stationed on stage and performs a 20-minute loop of fun tunes and jokes that some may call corny, but we think is pure genius.
Now as mentioned, this restaurant offers casual fast-food-like eats and for this snack hack, you’ll be ordering a side of french fries which are priced at $4.99. The next thing you will order is a little cup of onions which, if you dined at Cosmic Ray’s back in the ‘old days of yesteryear’, then you know that’s the replacement for the toppings bar they used to have available for guests dining at the restaurant. The side of onions is free of charge so your meal remains just under $5. BUT, that’s not all!
After acquiring your snack, you’ll head over to the condiment pumps and add a nice topping of BBQ sauce which you can drizzle to your heart’s content. After that, just throw those chopped onions from the extra cup you ordered on top, and voilà! You got yourself some BBQ-loaded fries with no extra charge for the add-ons! Is that a hack or what? We think even Sonny Eclipse himself would approve.
And there you have it folks, a nice little hack to level up your snack. For more snack hacks and the best Disney tips and tricks, stay tuned with us here on DFB!

Who remembers live entertainment with Michael Iceberg? That was long before Michael Eisner took over at the helm at WDW. WE aLeah’s enjoyed his music on the Moog synthesizer.
