Close your eyes. Picture a tropical, relaxing hotel with tiki drinks and a gorgeous waterfront location. Are you picturing Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort? It’s a VERY popular Disney hotel, and for good reason! Just LOOK at it.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
This resort is just a Monorail ride away from the Magic Kingdom (and EPCOT!). It’s got an EPIC pool, TONS of great food options, and Magic Kingdom fireworks viewing locations. But soon, there will be even MORE reasons to visit this hotel. That’s right — a NEW part of the hotel will soon open. Let’s talk about it!
Disney announced that NEW rooms are coming to the Polynesian Village Resort. We’ve been keeping our eyes on the construction progress for AGES, and this new building is really coming along.
Recent construction check-in
Disney revealed that the new building is called the Island Tower. It will be part of the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) hotel collection, but you don’t have to be a Vacation Club member to book a room! These new villas will sleep two to nine people and feature studio rooms, one- and two-bedroom villas, and two-bedroom Penthouse villas. Expect some gorgeous Deluxe rooms right near Magic Kingdom, with that classic Polynesian feeling.

Mark your calendars! The new Island Tower will open this December (2024), and you can start reserving rooms VERY soon. In fact, you can see some key booking dates below:
- June 4th: Disney Vacation Club members can make early rental reservations by contacting Member Services at (800) 800-9800. Disney Vacation Club members will be able to make points-based reservations at a later date.
- June 5th: Walt Disney World Annual Passholders can start booking rental reservations by contacting (407) 934-7639.
- June 6th: All guests can make reservations on the Disney World website or by contacting (407) 934-7639.

As you can see from Disney’s concept art, this hotel will have a light, natural color palette with lots of texture in the decorations. Disney explained that this addition will “complete the vision created by Disney Imagineers decades ago while embracing the rich culture from the Polynesian Islands.”

If you’re interested in being among the FIRST to stay in this new hotel, make sure to set aside some time this June to book a room.
