It has been quite an exciting day so far!
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure sign
Disney shared the first full ride through video of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom, and we can’t wait to go down into the bayou and help Tiana find a band for her big celebration. However, Tiana is in a bit of a pickle already because those who were supposed to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure as part of early previews haven’t been able to.Â
Today, June 1st, contracted Cast Members and Walt Disney Imagineering Cast Members have been given the opportunity to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure early. However, we managed to walk by the ride today and learned that these Cast Members were being told that the ride is currently down. Oh no!
Previews are closed for now
The ride has, apparently, been down all morning. Now, as you might know, official Cast Member previews don’t start until Monday, June 3rd, but today was for this specific group, while June 2nd will be exclusively for those Cast Members who work in Magic Kingdom. Monday will include all Cast Members, as well as their guests.
UPDATE: We noticed the ride was back up and running again when we wandered by it around 2:50PM.Â
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is closed to previews right now
The story of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure picks up after the events of The Princess and the Frog. At the end of that movie, Tiana finally opened the restaurant of her dreams, but in Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, she owns a whole company, Tiana’s Foods. During the ride, Tiana will tell you that she’s trying to throw a party for the people of New Orleans, but she needs a vital ingredient — a good band! Y’all, this is New Orleans — music is EVERYTHING, so Tiana sends you on a mission to find some of the best musicians in the bayou.

Along the way, you’ll see Louis, who will guide you through the bayou and introduce you to some of its critters, many of whom are musically inclined. Eventually, though, you’ll meet Mama Odie, who will use some of her special magic to help in your search.

Ultimately, you find the band and the party comes together as one of the swingiest parties New Orleans has ever seen. Tiana shows up to the party in a stunning 1920s evening gown (we still can’t get over that dress) and we’re all invited.

Early previews will continue over the next few weeks for Cast Members, Disney World Annual Passholders, Disney Vacation Club members, and D23 Gold members. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens to the public on June 28th.

I mean no disrespect to the cast and crew of the movie, The Princess Frog. It is a fine movie, but can someone tell me why this movie (set in one the lowest places in the US) was made into a ride on a mountain? Also, this movie did not do particularly well at the box office – only 110M domestic (total). When adjusted for inflation, it does not even crack the top 100 animated films.
