Planning a vacation at Disney World is hard enough, but couple that with the intense heat, sweat, and summer crowds, and you could instantly have a recipe for disaster. While most people believe that planning a vacation at Disney World begins and ends with the logistics of getting your hotel accommodations and park tickets, figuring out your best transportation options, and mastering the art of advance dining reservations and Genie+, oftentimes there’s a whole other element missed in the chaos of it all.

Knowing your stresses, limits, and how certain outside factors physically work against you can be key to understanding how to not only dress for but survive the physical toll being in the Disney World parks can take on your body — without turning you into something that resembles a bridge troll a few hours into your day.

We’re out in the Disney World parks every single day, so who better to take advice from than the folks who are truly the “boots on the ground”! Here’s a peek into all of our favorite things we use to keep us from looking like scary trolls and letting the elements win!

First, we’ve got to talk about our hair. Orlando is certainly known to be hot but what most people don’t account for is the way that wave of humidity hits you like a ton of bricks (even early in the morning). If you’ve got hair that just can’t be tamed in such conditions, these are our recommendations.

Now that we’ve tamed the hair beast, it’s time to refocus on another physical toll the Orlando weather will take on your body. Most likely, you don’t normally walk quite as much as you will in one park day’s worth in quite some time. Heed our advice, don’t try to “tough it out” when there’s super reliable help that can make a HUGE difference so easily.

Megababe is literally a lifesaver for our bodies. No. We’re not being overdramatic.

This stuff is like magic for your body! Not only will it help you with your friction woes, but it’s also so discrete that no one will know. There’s no residue left behind and the stick is so compact and travels just like a stick of deodorant. We’re huge fans of taking this little thing around with us to the Disney World parks and popping by the bathroom when we’re ready to reapply it. Plus, it works in all sorts of places you might get irritated from chaffing, sweat, and general irritation that you don’t typically plan to encounter just by walking.

Speaking of bodies, we can’t leave out our faces! So how exactly are we making sure that our makeup doesn’t melt right off? The answer is so simple.

Mad Beauty makes an adorable duo of vanilla and honey-scented lip balms that couldn’t come in a more fitting package! They’re both molded like little pots of “Hunny” like Winnie The Pooh likes to snack on, but we don’t recommend eating this product — just apply it to keep your lips silky smooth!

NYX makes these blotting papers which are ideal for wiping away sweat and dirt without taking off all of your makeup. They’re made to use as needed and easily tossable when you’re done with them. They’re like a freshening up without having to reapply everything all over again, which we think is genius!
