If you’ve visited Disney World over the past few years, you’ve probably seen that EPCOT has been under a LOT of construction (and you’ve probably had to walk even FURTHER to get from point A to point B because of that construction).

That’s because EPCOT has been going through a MASSIVE transformation that has completely changed the front of the park and brought some new attractions, too. The transformation also includes CommuniCore Hall and Plaza, which will serve as festival spaces but also host a new Mickey and Friends meet and greet. We’ve got some BIG news about CommuniCore Hall and Plaza that we need to share!
So we’ve been completely thrilled as construction walls have started to come down in EPCOT, and today, we noticed MORE construction walls are now gone! HOORAY!!! This time, the construction walls around CommuniCore Hall and Plaza have officially disappeared, and now we can get a better look at this new part of EPCOT.

We also got a look around the stage area, where the new Encanto singalong show, Encanto ¡Celebración Encanto! will be performed starting tomorrow, June 10th.

There are tables and chairs here now, but we think those are probably just for the media event being held tonight. But we would love to see additional seating permanently here, right?

We also know that one side of CommuniCore Hall will host a meet and greet with Mickey and some of his friends. Disney recently teased the characters we’ll have a chance to say hello to here and it included Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy. We’re assuming this will replace the character meet and greet with Mickey and Minnie over at the Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival.

We also recently spotted a sign that says “Festival Favorites” on one side of CommuniCore Hall, where Cast Members teased a potential food booth. However, Disney has not yet confirmed exactly what this is.

Meanwhile, CommuniCore Plaza is an outdoor space where you can relax and enjoy EPCOT’s festivals. This area can also host large-scale concerts or smaller performances.

Any news about what will happen to the old festival center over by Guardians? I noticed it was walled off from the public. I love that old body wars building. Hope Disney has plans for it.
