Epic Universe — a brand NEW theme park — is opening in 2025, bringing five new themed lands to Universal Orlando.
Universal Orlando is currently made up of two theme parks — Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, plus the Volcano Bay water park and City Walk shopping and dining center. Epic Universe will be its third theme park, and it will have five new lands: Celestial Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and Dark Universe. Tons of fans are super excited about that last land in particular, and now we’ve got a sneak peek INSIDE the area!
At Dark Universe, you’ll “encounter everything from the experiments of Dr. Victoria Frankenstein to the shadowy landscape where monsters roam in a world of myth and mystery.” If you love Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights, this land was MADE for you. A Universal executive said that Dark Universe will be “a world where Universal’s classic monsters are reimagined in an OMINOUS and CHILLING experience.”
We’ve seen some concept art of the entrance to this land, and it looks pretty spooky and incredible, to say the least.
You can see most of the track here, including a few ride vehicles that are already testing.
The ride vehicles appear to have dummies inside them (those blue things) for the testing phase.
You can also see some of the queue area, which is still under construction but already has some landscaping done.
About that building that looks like a barn, bioreconstruct said, “At first trains stall in this turn, and fall backwards through the barn. Stall at the opposite side, and then the shuttle propels the trains forward into the station.”
Here’s a closer look at the ride vehicles.
We can’t wait to ride this coaster when it opens with the rest of Epic Universe in 2025!
We also got a peek at the manor in Dark Universe, which is where another attraction will be located. Reportedly, this attraction will use that Kuka Arm ride system (the one that’s used in Harry Potter in the Forbidden Journey) to take guests through the manor, which will apparently have many Universal Monsters inside.
The massive size and dark stone will definitely give this manor an intimidating appearance once it’s complete.
We’ll be watching closely for more updates from Universal, so stay tuned to DFB for the latest news. Check out these posts for more info about Epic Universe:
