It is an exciting day at Disney World! There are lots of new changes debuting including the beginning of the 30th Anniversary Celebration of The Lion King at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, a new meet and greet at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and the grand opening of CommuniCore Hall & Plaza in EPCOT.
The EPCOT map got a big update!
We had the opportunity to get a sneak peek at this new space last night, and now the CommuniCore Hall and Plaza area is finally open for everyone TODAY.
Now that CommuniCore Hall and Plaza are OFFICALLY open, that also means we are seeing a huge change on the EPCOT map. This area used to be a green space on the My Disney Experience app map, but now you can see the structure. This has been years in the making, and it is so exciting to finally see the map filled out!

When you zoom in closer on the map you can see a few of the different areas of the new space including the Mickey & Friends meet and greet, and the Festival Favorites booth. The opening of CommuniCore Hall and Plaza marks the end of a lengthy EPCOT transformation. While this grand opening may mark the end of the transformation, there are still plenty of new and exciting things coming to EPCOT, including a reimagined Test Track.

CommuniCore Hall and Plaza are new festival areas that will provide a year-round space for programming, events, entertainment, and food. CommuniCore Plaza is an outdoor space that will provide an area for live performances including the new “¡Celebración Encanto!” show. This show is a 20-minute sing-along show with songs and characters from the film, Encanto. CommuniCore Plaza is an indoor space that will provide a flexible venue for various festival offerings including exhibition space, food stalls, mixology classes, and much more.
CommuniCore Hall is officially open!
While the My Disney Experience app has been updated with CommuniCore Hall and Plaza, it looks like we are still waiting on a new hardcopy map in the parks. Our reporter is in EPCOT this morning to check out the grand opening and the old map is still being used. We are keeping our eyes out to see if we get a new hardcopy map in the parks though!

Too bad. Disney took an iconic futuristic look of EPCOT center and ruined it. I have always been a big fan of the architectural magistry , energy and wonder of the original design layout of the buildings and fountains, but not any more. Now it is nothing but an obstacle on your way to World Showcase, which is starting to loose its vision too.
