This year will mark the 40th anniversary of Disney Television Animation! For four decades, Disney Branded Television has produced a BUNCH of original series and movies.
To celebrate this monumental occasion, Disney shared details about series renewals and new series, as well as some first looks into their upcoming Disney Junior, Disney Channel, and Disney+ projects!
At their panel at the Annecy Animation Festival, Disney made nine exciting announcements about upcoming projects that will be available on Disney Junior, Disney Channel, and Disney+! Variety reported about the announcements.
Starting with the renewals, Disney shared that “Big City Greens” has been renewed for a fifth season! This is one of Disney Channel’s most popular shows, and this summer, the premiere of “Big City Greens the Movie: Spacecation” will be on Disney Channel.
Moongirl and Devil Dinosaur will now get a series of shorts called “Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur: Moon Girl’s Lab.” The shorts are set to premiere on June 28th on Disney Channel, Disney Channel YouTube, and Disney+, all on the same day.
It is never too early to start talking about Christmas, and that is the case with the announcement of “Prep & Landing: The Snowball Protocol.” This 22-minute holiday installment will premiere next year.
Sony Pictures Television, in association with Disney Junior, will produce a series of spin-off shorts called “Superkitties: Su-Purr Adventures.” These shorts will premiere on August 7th on Disney Junior and Disney Channel and the next day, August 8th, on Disney+ and Disney Junior YouTube.
