It’s certainly no secret that EPCOT has experienced a MASSIVE transformation over the last few years.
Projects like the Mary Poppins ride and the Play Pavilion eventually fell off the map and Disney never spoke of them again. But, others like Journey of Water: Inspired by Moana, the World Celebration Gardens, and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, are still garnering plenty of attention. And, soon enough, another ride will have a refreshed look!
Heads up! Test Track is now CLOSED as of June 17th! That’s right, Test Track is getting a refurbishment, complete with some nods to the old ride! This will mark the third version of this attraction, and we’re excited to see what sort of changes come out of this renovation.
The ride will continue to be sponsored by Chevrolet. General Motors, the parent company of Chevrolet, has been a long-time sponsor of this pavilion, and Disney announced that both Disney Imagineers and teams from Chevrolet will be working together to reach back into history to reimagine this ride.
Of course, this means that if you didn’t already get your final ride on this iteration of Test Track in, you’ll be waiting a while until the refurbishment is complete! Disney hasn’t shared any sort of timeline on when we can expect the ride to reopen, but we’ll be on the lookout for more details. For now, the gift shop and Chevrolet preview center are still open.
In typical Disney fashion, many of the details of the refurbishment are yet to be revealed, which gives us hope that the House of Mouse is planning something big!
In other refurbishment news, the Country Bear Jamboree is being reimagined to include new characters, outfits, songs, stories, and more over at Magic Kingdom with a July 17th reopening date. And of course, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has officially replaced the former Splash Mountain and will be opening to everyone on June 28th — so mark your calendars!
While we don’t have a ton of details from Disney just yet, you can be sure we’ll be on the hunt for any updates about this refurbishment we can get! In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest ride refurbishment news around the parks and more.

I am very concerned about the Test Track redo. Let’s face it, Cosmic Rewind is no near replacement for the Universe of Energy attraction. Or the Disney Clips Theater pales in comparison to Honey, I shrunk the Audience. Moana, a tradgedy, and the list goes on. Where is that ground breaking out of the box first time ever Disney WEd thinking. We need it at Test Track following the past refirb aver 10 years ago.
