There are SO many snacks in Disney World these days, how do you choose which ones to buy?!
The options vary from park to park and meal to meal, so it’s a challenge to know how to build your must-buy list. But in the summertime, that challenge gets a liiiittle bit easier — all we want is to have something cold and refreshing! And if you’re in the mood for a chilly treat on a hot day, there’s a new snack you need to try.
A few days ago, the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor introduced the new S’mores Shake!
This sweet treat is $8.99 and made with chocolate ice cream blended with marshmallows and graham cracker crumbles, topped with whipped cream, graham cracker crumbles, mini marshmallows, and hot fudge. It’s like a campfire snack in a cup!
Immediately, my first thought was that this is a LOT of chocolate! The chocolate ice cream is rich and smooth and very delicious, but if you’re not a chocolate fan, you’ll want to skip this one. There’s also a decent amount of hot fudge inside that adds a richer chocolate flavor.Â
The marshmallows help tone down the chocolate just a little bit, and they add a nice variety to the texture. There are marshmallow chunks and chocolate chips throughout the shake and I really liked those flavors and textures, but they kept getting stuck in my milkshake straw, which made it a challenge to drink. I would probably recommend getting a spoon to help you with those chunks.
The other flavors overshadow the graham cracker a little bit, but I’m a huge chocoholic, so I didn’t mind. Ultimately, I thought this was super delicious, just challenging to drink! And it’s quite rich, so you might want to split this with someone else.
I definitely recommend Plaza Ice Cream Parlor as a great spot to grab a snack in Magic Kingdom. It’s the one spot there where you can get hard-packed ice cream, and if you get scoops, they’ll often put little chocolate Mickey ears on top! Plus, they offer a variety of sauces and toppings to make your own special creation. (My personal favorite is a scoop of chocolate with peanut butter sauce on top — YUM!)

It sounds like Disney needs to invest in some larger diameter boba straws to help keep the chunks from blocking the flow.

For the s’mores flavor, the marshmallow must be toasty roasty. So many treats claiming to be s’mores flavored are disappointing with plain ol’ marshmallows.
