It’s a great time to be a Disney World fan — there are just so many great new experiences around with more on the way!
CommuniCore Hall and Plaza have officially opened in EPCOT, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be opening at the end of June, and we’ll soon be getting a new version of Country Bear Jamboree at Magic Kingdom. Not only that, but another classic Frontierland attraction is undergoing quite a renovation — and it’s now closed for good.
Heads up — the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade in Magic Kingdom is now permanently closed! Disney has closed this iconic attraction to make room for something new: a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) member lounge.
This will be the third DVC lounge in Disney World, which includes a DVC lounge in EPCOT at the Imagination Pavilion and Top of the World — A Villains Lair at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Disney has not yet announced an opening date for the new lounge, but we saw Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade’s last day on June 23rd.
We don’t have too many details on the new lounge — like what sort of theme it might have or when it will open — but we’re on the hunt for the latest updates.
Looking for more details about being a DVC member? We’ve got all the details right here so you can decide if it’s right for you. Essentially, many people think of the DVC as Disney’s version of a timeshare. But uniquely, Members are not “locked in” to a particular Disney destination, Resort, style of accommodation, season of travel, or length of stay. Rather, Members utilize a Vacation Points system, offering more flexibility.
We’ll be keeping an eye out for more details, so you’ll want to stay tuned to DFB for more. We also learned that DVC members will be getting more details soon, too.

We went on Saturday to shoot at the Frontier Shooting Gallery one last time. My coon skin cap no longer fits. But I still have the memories.
Thanks for destroying Americana, Bob Iger.

Our family absolutely LOVED the Shootin’ Arcade in Frontierland. This is just another great loss for the Disney World Park goers. Very sad…

I never went to the Shooting arcade in Frontierland and likely never would so I feel that the DVC lounge is a wonderful use of that space-looking forward to it.
