While it may only be June, there is no time like the present to start making plans for the holiday season.
Well, now you can plan your trip to the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays because Disney has officially released the dates for this year’s event! But, the dates aren’t the only thing Disney has confirmed for the Festival of the Holidays — so let’s get into everything we know so far.
EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays is a global celebration of holidays from cultures around the world, and we’re bringing you a look at everything we know about this year’s festival!
Dates
The 2024 Festival of the Holidays will run from November 29th through December 30th! In keeping with tradition, this event begins the day after Thanksgiving and will include holiday storytellers, merchandise, entertainment, and more, all celebrating festive traditions around the world.
Holiday Kitchens
Disney announced that the event will include Holiday Kitchens with lots of tasty seasonal drinks and snacks. Last year, there were over 15 different food booths, each with its own theme inspired by a different winter holiday or culture from around the world.
Disney hasn’t released details on how many booths or which ones we can expect will be at the festival, so stay tuned for the full details! You can also click here to see our full reviews of last year’s Holiday Kitchens.
Entertainment
The Candlelight Processional — a fan-favorite part of the holiday festival — will also return in 2024. A celebrity narrator shares the Christmas story accompanied by a 50-piece orchestra and choir (composed of a Disney Cast Member choir along with an ever-changing group of guest choirs from around the country).
Santa Claus has also been confirmed for this year’s event. In 2023, he once again greeted guests in a festive space inside The Odyssey Pavilion. There is photo op with Santa and his SLEIGH in this immersive greeting experience.
Also confirmed for this year, catch a performance of Joyful: A Celebration of the Season! This show features gospel mixed with jazz, R&B, and more, celebrating Christmas and Kwanzaa.
The Holiday Storytellers have also been confirmed to return! Different storytellers get into character and tell the legends and origins of their respective culture’s holiday traditions.
The Holiday Cookie Stroll has become a favorite Festival tradition and will be back in 2024! To complete the cookie stroll, you’ll need to buy 5 cookies from ANY of the cookie stroll locations featured in the Festival Passport. When you buy a qualifying cookie, make sure to get the matching stamp in your passport to show you’ve made the purchase.
Olaf’s Holiday Tradition Expedition made its debut in 2020, and has returned each year since — this year is no different! Go on a hunt around World Showcase looking for holiday traditions that Olaf has gathered — and lost — along the way.Â
The classic attraction Living with the Land — located in The Land pavilion in EPCOT’s World Nature — gets dressed up for the season with a lovely light display at night: it’s Living with the Land — Glimmering Greenhouses! This overlay will return in 2024.
The festival usually also includes a holiday attraction overlay at Journey Into Imagination with Figment (see Figment in his Christmas sweater!) You can also see a limited-time light show on Spaceship Earth, and more.
Although we have some exciting details already, we’ll have to wait for the announcements about the Holiday Kitchens. Stay tuned to DFB for more news about the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays and reviews of the event!
