Travel continues to change, specifically when we’re talking about the differences between how different generations travel.
In general, it seems like people are traveling now more than ever, which, believe it or not, poses some new challenges for Disney World. There are some Disney World hotel trends we think we’ll be seeing soon, too. Millennials and Gen Z are already making an impact on the travel industry, meaning that many travel companies, like Disney Cruise Line, have to figure out a new way to appeal to those travelers. Gen Z, in particular, is really shaking things up, and there’s one longtime travel trend they’re just ignoring.
A survey by IBS Software shows that 47% of Americans are now using in-person or online travel agents to book their trips. However, what’s most surprising about the survey is that it shows that 38 percent of Millennials and Gen Z are now preferring to use travel agents when booking travel. This is in stark contrast to Gen X: only 12 percent are using traditional travel agents. Only 2% of Boomers choose travel agents.
It seems that travel agents are experiencing a renaissance among the younger generations. But why? Well, we can make some guesses. First, travel agents are generally free, and can help get the best deals on travel. Today’s economy is tough for many, so scoring a good deal could be turning younger generations onto asking for help. Millennials and Gen Z are also still in the workforce, so having a travel agent can also save a lot of valuable time.
For those looking to book a Disney World trip, getting a travel agent is a no-brainer. Not only can a travel agent score the best deals, but if a better deal comes along, they can rebook the trip and refund the savings. Disney World travel agents, such as those at Small World Vacations, also know Disney World and Disneyland inside out and can make the best recommendations on where to stay, where to eat, and how to navigate My Disney Experience and Genie+.
Things like booking a Disney Cruise Line cruise are also a lot easier with a travel agent. Booking a cruise, transportation, and everything such a vacation entails can be complicated, but a travel agent can help every step of the way so that the process is as easy as possible.
If you’re on the fence about working with a travel agent, we’d like to put your mind at ease. Why do it all yourself when you can get someone to help you with every detail of your trip, including the complicated bits? We know that some of you enjoy the planning phase of a trip, but you can still work with a travel agent to guarantee that you get the Disney trip you want to have.
