Calling all theatre buffs — a NEW Disney stage show is set to premiere in 2025!
We report on new shows and entertainment coming to the Disney Parks all the time, but it’s not every day that Disney announces a brand new stage show coming to the theatre — and one based on a beloved ’90s animated classic! Fans of the Disney animated movie Hercules are in for a treat as a stage adaptation is set to premiere next summer!
Per Disney on Stage, Hercules: The Heroic New Musical is coming to London in the summer of 2025!
The Disney Theatrical Group confirmed the stage production will be directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London’s West End. Featuring music and lyrics by Alan Menken and David Zippel, Hercules will also have “a brand-new book by Robert Horn and Kwame Kwei-Armah and co-choreography by Tanisha Scott.”
This new musical is inspired by the 1997 Academy Award-nominated film of the same name from Walt Disney Studios.
To tease the production, Disney on Stage promoted a 2023 rendition of “Go the Distance” and “Zero to Hero” from that year’s Royal Variety Performance. The act was featured in the Disney on Stage medley and included the titular characters and the muses. You can check out the video below!
