We stay at the Disney World hotels ALL THE TIME, so when something at a Disney resort makes even seasoned experts giddy and excited, you know it was special.
We toured the new cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort earlier this year and were left pretty impressed. With that said, we recently returned for a little more fanfare, which included recreational activities, a dinner show, and tons of fun. Over the span of a weekend, our experience at The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort was elevated from an underrated resort to one of our absolute favorites — and we can’t wait to tell you how!
The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort offer a truly unique experience at Disney World in that it allows you to experience the great outdoors at Disney. Here, you get the perfect “glamping” experience full of fishing, cooking up s’mores, sitting under the stars, and more.
We were recently invited back by Disney to check out the newly renovated Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Cabins at Fort Wilderness, and our experience was INCREDIBLE.
During our previous visit, we got a good look at the rooms. The cabins are vibrant, luxurious, and make camping a blast. The new design is sleek and “inspired by the resort’s idyllic setting, while also paying homage to the resort’s unique culture and heritage through the magic of Disney storytelling,” per Disney.
The cabins can sleep up to six adults and include one bedroom, one bathroom, a living room, a full kitchen, and a private patio. Some cabins are also dog-friendly. To see our full tour, click the link below!
FULL TOUR: We Got an Exclusive Look at the NEW Fort Wilderness Cabins in Disney World!
While the cabins are great, it was the rest of the experience that made our stay at Fort Wildnerness a memorable DVC option at Disney World!

There is so much to do and see, and that extra Disney touch — like meeting characters — makes a stay at Fort Wilderness extra special. During our stay, we even took a fishing trip out on the Seven Seas Lagoon!
Captain Paul was an excellent skipper, and we even caught some fish! This excursion was AMAZING and packed with great views and relaxation. One view we saw that would surprise most was the bat house that keeps local bats away from campers.
@disneyfoodblog WE HAD SO MUCH FUN 🥹🎣 would you try fishing in #disney ?? #disneyworld #disneyparks #disneyresort #disneyvacation #disneyplanning #disneytips #disneynews #disneyresorts #disneytiktok #disneycreator #disneymagic #disneyvacationclub #ThatMagicalFeeling #hosted

We were extra fond of the shoe tree — a spot where retired boat captains and Cast Members can throw their shoes into the tree as a sendoff.
Our favorite part of the trip, however, was our meal at Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue! This lively restaurant is located in Pioneer Hall and is themed after a huge barn. Debuting in 1974, Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is great for families, serving buckets of food in an all-you-care-to-enjoy meal of fried chicken (find the recipe here!), ribs, mashed potatoes, and more.
The food is excellent but it’s the entertainment that truly stands out! The dinner show is a rootin’ tootin’ good time that’s interactive and a blast for the whole family.

We stayed at this campground with a camper or staying in a cabin when I was young. Magic Kingdom was the only park. We brought our bikes and had an awesome time riding the trails. Fort Wilderness is a wonderful experience. Today, I would rather be near the action. Fort Wilderness transportation takes a while to get back to the parks (especially when the boats are not running).
