EPCOT’s massive transformation has been completed, but there is still more work to be done. We’ve seen the long-awaited construction walls come down from around its new World Celebration gardens and CommuniCore Hall, revealing even more festival food favorites to munch on, live entertainment, and even a dedicated spot to meet Mickey and his pals! But Test Track is currently under construction, and we’re expecting a NEW version of the ride to debut. There’s pretty much always something new to look forward to in EPCOT!

A new show debuted on Disney+ that will appeal to all Disney experts and EPCOT fans. EPCOT Becoming: Inside The Transformation is now available to stream on Disney+ and Hulu and features EPCOT’s massive transformation as the core of its content. If this show sounds a bit familiar, that’s because it’s not totally new — it did have its initial debut on TV before coming to the streaming platforms.

Throughout its runtime, you’ll get an exclusive inside look at how Disney Imagineers designed, demolished, planed, and eventually built out the heartbeat of EPCOT we’ve come to know and appreciate today.

EPCOT’s transformation may have certainly taken longer than we had hoped, especially when the whole world was delayed by a global pandemic, and the plans might have deviated a bit from Disney’s original concepts. It’s interesting to see the perspective of the creative minds fully invested in the project who brought it to life before our eyes.

We didn’t JUST get new buildings, gardens, and rides out of this new transformation, though! Disney Imagineers also brought back an original EPCOT park icon: the EPCOT entrance pylons.

Plus, Disney debuted a completely original nighttime show that focused on what connects us all as humans, telling our collective story through innovative storytelling! The new show that took over after the long-running fan favorite, Illuminations (which had been around for decades as THE EPCOT nighttime show), is named Luminous: The Story Of Us. It debuted after a brief run of HarmonioUS, which performed under a limited engagement to celebrate Disney World’s 50th anniversary.

While the notion that EPCOT would always be in “a state of becoming” rings true, it seems that we can find some sense of pride in knowing that its most recent phase of upgrades to the park has come to a close.
