Planning a trip to Disney World involves…well…a lot of planning. You have to figure out your budget, how long you want to stay, where you want to stay, and what kind of park tickets to get.
You also have to figure out HOW you’re getting to Disney World. Although many may drive, for most folks, this means flying to Orlando. Well, one airline wants to make your flying experience a little more EXTRA by adding a LOT MORE first class and premium class seats to its planes.
Beginning in September, Alaska Airlines has plans to start rolling out more first class and premium class seats across its fleet of aircraft, which would add 1.3 million premium seats per year to its fleet of planes. The planes that will be getting these upgrades include 900ERs, 800s, and Max9s. The airline has already retrofitted its regional aircraft by adding 400,000 premium class seats to its E175 planes.
Alaska Airlines is also making it easier for passengers to upgrade their seats. The upgrades to its aircraft are expected to be complete by summer 2026. First Class seating will be more enhanced than ever with more legroom, a calf rest, a new seatback device holder, a six-way headrest with neck support, and USB-C charging capabilities.
In premium class and the main cabin of the 737-800 fleet, features will be improved, including new device holders with built-in cup holders, USB-C charging, and a six-way headrest with dedicated neck support. Many planes will also receive an “interior refresh.”
So, when you fly to Disney World, you may want to consider booking a seat on Alaska Airlines. Of course, when you get to Orlando, you’ll still have to figure out how to get from the airport to Disney World. You have several options, including renting a car, using a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft, or taking a shared shuttle service like Mears Connect driven by Sunshine.
