I’ve eaten at every Disney World restaurant, every snack stand, and every EPCOT festival booth in the 15 years since I started Disney Food Blog.
Y’all, there are so many restaurants I absolutely LOVE, but I have to be honest and tell you there are also some I would NEVER recommend. Wait…never say never, AJ. There is one spot in EPCOT I used to warn people away from that has turned into a place I definitely think you should try!
I’m talking about Regal Eagle Smokehouse.Â
This restaurant is themed around The Muppets’ Sam Eagle, and you’ll find nods to him and more of The Muppets throughout the restaurant.
This is serious barbecue, and the menu includes Memphis Dry-Rub Pork Ribs, a Sliced Texas Beef Brisket Sandwich, and a Kansas City Half-Smoked Chicken.
There are also sides like these Baked Beans with Burnt Ends (I REALLY like these)…
…and desserts including THIS S’MORES BROWNIE.
This is SOLID food — a fast casual restaurant with some serious table service quality. Regal Eagle Smokehouse opened about a month before Disney World shut down for the pandemic in 2020, and I couldn’t wait to try it again when it re-opened later in 2020. But this spot? Well, it used to be a little place called Liberty Inn.
The menu at Liberty Inn included cheeseburgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, pulled pork sandwiches, and a variety of desserts. The food was sub-par, and the only reason I could recommend eating here was the plentiful seating in AC. There were just too many better food options in EPCOT’s World Showcase.
I was not sad to see Liberty Inn go. And it turns out that in its place we got an inspired renovation into an “all-American” concept that still fits in the American Pavilion — but with character. They do a great job at Regal Eagle food-wise!
Just goes to show — never say never when it comes to Disney World Restaurants. As I’ve said many times before (because it’s SO TRUE!), the only thing that’s consistent about Disney restaurants is that they’re inconsistent.

We are heading back to Regal Eagle on our upcoming trip. Why? It’s not the BBQ, which is admittedly delicious. Nope! It’s the BANANA PUDDING. No lie. Really. Eat it!

I have eaten at both the Liberty (original name) and Regal Eagle and I found both to be good, especially for picky eaters. However, I have to say that Regal Eagle’s BBQ is absolutely delicious!

When Regal Eagle food is fresh, it is the best BBQ! But I’ve had ribs that were probably sitting under a heat lamp all day and were dry and hard.
