We’ve seen our fair share of celebrities and “important” people spend time at Disney World over the years.
I mean, hasn’t it been the thing that many people would say when they win a sporting event or some award that they would be going to Disney World? Not to minimize any celebrity, but they’re like us too in that they enjoy their time at Disney World just like we do. Did you know that Disney World has even hosted royalty? Well, let’s talk about the room where Princess Diana herself stayed in when she visited Disney World!
So what’s the story? Princess Diana was at Disney World? Yes, it’s true. The Princess of Wales and her boys made a trip to Disney World back in August of 1993. You can see her and the Princes William and Harry as they ride on Splash Mountain!
As the story goes, the trio enjoyed some time on a couple of rides at Magic Kingdom like Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Jungle Cruise, and even spent some time with the boss himself, Mickey Mouse.
Then they retired to their hotel Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa! Can you guess which room they stayed in?
They rented out the entire fifth floor of the resort and stayed in the Presidential Suite, which was complete with marble floors and a pool view. It’s a three-bedroom villa that costs thousands of dollars per night and it can sleep up to twelve people. Can you imagine how cool it would be to say you stepped into the same room as royalty?
One of the waiters at Flagler’s restaurant, which is now Citricos, recalled the time to PEOPLE, “That morning when I came in, all the back areas – which were usually just for employees – had this red carpet everywhere. Even in the elevators! So I knew something was up.”
The next time you visit the Grand Floridian you can imagine that you were standing in the very same spot that Princess Diana and the boys must have stood. Until then, stay tuned to DFB for more.

I was vacationing at the same time at the Floridian with my sister, daughter, niece and nephew! It was very exciting. We thought we might see them at breakfast, but they put up screens for their privacy.
