If you’re planning a Disney World vacation, you might find getting reservations to some of the HOTTEST dining and experiences can be quite difficult.
Want to grab a reservation for Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort? We wish you luck! Want to take a trip up a space elevator to experience Space 220 at EPCOT? That could be difficult to do. Want to make a lightsaber at Savi’s Workshop in Disney’s Hollywood Studios? Better make that reservation QUICKLY. Getting into Oga’s Cantina can also be a chore. One exclusive experience in Magic Kingdom used to be REALLY hard to get, but, y’all, something has HAPPENED.
Are you familiar with Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique? This is an experience for kids where they can receive a princess or knight makeover, complete with a new outfit, hairstyle, makeup, and more. In the past, it’s also been a highly sought-after experience, meaning that getting reservations for it has been difficult, ESPECIALLY in Magic Kingdom (which makes sense because you can go grab those castle photos right after the makeover).
So, of course, you would never expect this location to accept walk-ins, right? Like it’s ALWAYS busy. Well, that has changed. Recently, we’ve noticed a sign in front of Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique indicating that it’s open to taking walk-ups during the day. Say what? And we’ve been seeing this sign A LOT recently.
So what gives? Well, the experience is pricey, particularly for those princess makeovers. The most basic package, which includes hairstyling, sparkly makeup and a face gem, a princess sash and cinch snack, nail polish, and a Disney princess gown with matching accessories is $99.95. The most expensive option is $229.95, which includes everything in the basic package but with a deluxe princess gown, and a a coordinated boxed accessory set. There’s also a special Encanto package for $179.95.
A Knight Package is also available, though, and it’s just $20. It includes hairstyling with gel and a sword and shield. SWEET. A Deluxe Knight Package goes for $79.95 and also includes a knight costume.
The experience also does take time out of your trip, as well, so maybe parents are not as willing now to give up part of their day in Magic Kingdom for a pricey experience that might not even last throughout the day (you know, because it involves kids). Whatever the reason behind the walk-up availability, it could be something your child is interested in, and if you can’t get a reservation, you might want to check about walk-up availability on your Magic Kingdom day — you never know!
Of course, we think this spot could be a lot more popular if they opened the experience up to adults. We wouldn’t HESITATE to get a princess makeover in Disney World (you know, except for that pesky rule that says adults can’t wear costumes in the parks unless it’s for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party).

I think a lot of people are going else where for their Disney makeovers! After the pandemic a lot of former cast members started up their own businesses, offering prince/princess makeovers right at guests resorts. I’ve seen a lot of pictures and they do amazing work! (Way better than BBB, in my opinion) Plus you can schedule them to come in the morning and not waste any park time. Seems like a win win to me!
I wonder if that’s what is contributing to less business at BBB?? Which can also be a good thing for guests who decide on a whim they want a makeover or maybe didn’t know about it when planning their trip

I don’t think you get a dress at the first level of Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique It is a T-shirt 200 level you get the dress.

Speaking of used to be hard to get reservations… Remember when you had to get on 2 years to the minute in advance to get Ci derella’s Royal Table(or Kibg Stefan’s)? My wife really wanted to go this trip, but even she balked when we figured it would be over $350 for us and our 3 boys. But for fun I check availability. Hours after I had to grab the last Space 220 time Cindy still had plenty of slots available. Maybe they finally out priced demand?

Love Disney but greed is out of control. Toronto to Fl during teacher break 1300$ air 238 per night AS movies than tickets and food. Last year 2000$ air Japan 1600 Tokyo hotel Disney tickets and souvenir half the cost, plus we stayed longer and saw an amazing country
