The magic has arrived!
After years of cryptic announcements, rumors, construction photos, and months of reveals, we finally have the details on ALL of Universal’s Epic Universe lands! The company recently released the details on The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic, the final Epic Universe portal.
This will be the third Potter-land in Orlando, and we are SO excited about it. This one is inspired by the Ministry of Magic, and it’s going to feature some “first-of-its-kind” elements. But first, we need to talk about the FOOD! There are some new restaurants and food kiosks coming to the Ministry of Magic land, so let’s dive in.
Universal just announced that Café L’Air De La Sirène is coming to Epic Universe! This restaurant is described as a “charming café where guests can delight in French sandwiches, plats du jour and desserts.” Based on the concept art, we’re expecting to see some elegant carved marble and French-inspired art and architecture. Plus, Universal teased that there will be hidden details of fantastic beasts in the tile and mosaic designs — keep your eyes peeled! This spot will offer both indoor and outdoor dining, with a menu full of French baked goods, sandwiches, plats du jour, and desserts. Oh, and great news, Potter fans — they’ve got Butterbeer! One of the things we’re most looking forward to, though, is the dessert displays “constructed of almost 2,000 decorative individual cream puffs.” WHAT?!
Up next, we have to talk about the second new restaurant coming to the Wizarding World. This one is called Le Gobelet Noir, located “In the shadowy corners of Place Cachée, where international Dark witches and wizards gather to escape the prying eyes of the Paris Ministry and have a hearty meal over hushed conversation.” We’re still waiting for more menu details here, but we do know that this spot will offer starters such as soups and salads and a variety of entrées and desserts.
Additionally, look out for other dining locations around the land, like Bar Moonshine, a spot to grab an exclusive beer, wine, or a cocktail, served amid U.S. Quidditch team pennants and other items of wizarding Americana.
Of course, there will also be a dedicated Butterbeer cart, or Bièraubeurre Cart in the Ministry of Magic. Sweet tooth? Stop by Les Galeries Mirifiques where you can visit a French confectionary shop, K. Rammelle. There’s no shortage of French treats and delights to enjoy in this new land!
