Disney World is always changing, and that’s part of the fun in visiting often.
Just this year, we’ve seen the opening of a brand new ride, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, as well as the reopening of a classic attraction, Country Bear Jamboree, which got a new show. Test Track in EPCOT is currently closed to be reimagined. However, it’s not just rides that are changing in Disney World — the food is always changing, too, and one Disney World restaurant just announced it will be debuting a new menu.
If you visit the Japan pavilion at EPCOT, you can dine at Takumi-Tei, the pavilion’s signature dining spot. This beautiful restaurant, which has an interior inspired by the natural elements, features a prix-fixe menu of two omakase multi-course meals: an omnivorous meal for $250 per person and a plant-based meal for $250 per person. You can also choose a wine pairing with your meal for an additional price.
The restaurant recently announced that was undergoing a “significant transformation.” The Japanese chef at Takumi-Tei has “meticulously redesigned all our courses.” Omnivorous is now Kiku, with plates that include Sushimi, Soups, a Wagyu Beef Roll, a selection of desserts, and more.
The plant-based menu is now Hasu and includes plates like flesh yuba and pickled daikon, bamboo shoot tempura, nigiri sushi, plant-based desserts, and more. Note that it now seems that the plant-based menu is also $250 per person.
The restaurant has also updated its children’s menu, Himawari. The children’s menu includes fresh yuba, baked flounder, various desserts, and more.
These menu effects have gone into effect as of today, August 1st, so if you have an advance dining reservation at Takumi-Tei, you may want to check the new menu items to make sure the new menu is still suitable for you and your party.
We’ll keep an eye out for other menu changes in Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more.

Love the kids menu! One of the only places it seems that isn’t going to “easy” route and serving Kraft mac and cheese and a hot dog. I really appreciate sticking to the cultural theme. Excited to try out the new offerings!
