When it comes to trying to guarantee a ride on Disney World’s most popular attractions, there are a few tricks you might want to keep up your sleeve.
Luckily, riding Disney World’s most popular attractions happens to be our job, which means we’ve learned just what to do in order to make it happen. And, if you’re looking to ride Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT on your next visit, make sure you keep reading our tips for getting on the ride even faster!
Want to guarantee a ride on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT even FASTER? Follow our three top tips and you’ll be movin’ and groovin’ in no time! As of now, there are only TWO ways to ride Cosmic Rewind — via Virtual Queue or Lightning Lane Single Pass, but we’ll get to those later.
Stay at a Disney World Hotel
Disney World just made staying at one of their hotels a whole lot more appealing — as if we even needed another reason to want to stay at one! But, the Genie+ system has been totally overhauled and Disney World hotel guests get special perks under the new Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass version.
Those staying at a Disney World Resort hotel (and select other hotels) can purchase and select their first 3 Lightning Lane Single Passes up to seven days in advance of their check-in day for their entire stay (up to 14 days), with all other guests being able to purchase and select their first 3 Lightning Lane Single Passes three days in advance.
This means hotel guests can book your Lightning Lane for Guardians WAY earlier than everyone else who is not staying at a Disney World hotel — which can be a HUGE advantage!

Snag an Early Lightning Lane
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind offers paid-for ride access via a Lightning Lane through Lightning Lane Single Pass which is available for purchase on the the My Disney Experience app. We’ve already talked about hotel guests getting a particular advantage, but early risers can also get a jump on the rest of the line!
All other park guests (including Disney World Annual Passholders) can purchase Lightning Lane passes at 7AM three days in advance of their first park day. Yep, you read that correctly — you’re going to want to be up BRIGHT AND EARLY three days before your first park day, so set those alarms!
Everything You Need to Know about Lightning Lane Single Pass in Disney World
Have Your Virtual Queue Set Up in Advance
A Virtual Queue is a tool available through the My Disney Experience app which allows you to reserve a space in line for the most popular park attractions. This space is referred to as a Boarding Pass for use within an assigned Boarding Group. There’s no guarantee you’ll snag a Boarding Group — but there are some things you can do ahead of time to give yourself a better chance!
You’ll first want to make sure that you have a registered account the My Disney Experience app for Disney World installed on your phone, updated with the latest version.
Beginning at 6AM, you can tap into the Virtual Queue and set your party so that you have fewer steps when Boarding Groups are available at 7AM or 1PM. On the app, after you’ve selected your desired attraction in the appropriate park under “Join Virtual Queue,” you’ll find a button that says “Confirm Your Party.”
Once you hit that button, the app will find the people who are linked to your account. You’ll select each person that you want to add to your party, and choose “Confirm Party.” Then, once the clock strikes 7AM, make sure you’re ready and join the queue!
