Every week, we report the average Disney World wait times in every park so that you can be prepared for your next trip to Orlando! This week saw an interesting pattern develop, and we need to talk about it.
Three of Disney World’s four theme parks — Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios — all saw their average wait times decrease over the past week. However, Disney World’s fourth theme park — EPCOT — saw wait times go up? Is this an effect of the new Lighting Lane Multi Pass system?
Take a look at this week’s average wait times — going from highest to lowest!
Magic Kingdom Wait Times
The Magic Kingdom park saw minor decreases in wait times this week. None were major (the largest was approximately 4 minutes) but still, it’s worth noting that Walt Disney World’s busiest theme park saw times drop. (REMINDER: Tron Lightcycle / Run does not currently use a standby queue; it’s not included here, and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure does not have a standby queue yet.)

A Surprisingly Scary Ride Is Returning to Magic Kingdom Next Week
EPCOT Wait Times
In opposition to the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT saw wait times go UP almost across the board this week. Again, no major jumps, but increases are increases. (NOTE: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind does not currently use a standby queue, so it’s not included here.)

Animal Kingdom Wait Times
Animal Kingdom’s Flight of Passage remains the busiest ride at the park (and resort overall). That said, Animal Kingdom was similar to Magic Kingdom in that nearly all of the park’s rides saw a small decrease in wait time. Overall, we’re noticing a pattern.
- Avatar Flight of Passage — 82 minutes
- Kali River Rapids — 47 minutes
- Na’vi River Journey — 46 minutes
- Expedition Everest — 33 minutes
- Kilimanjaro Safaris — 22 minutes

Hollywood Studios Wait Times
Hollywood Studios saw a CHANGE at the top, as Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster overtook Slinky Dog Dash for the park’s longest average wait. However, overall the park — like Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom — saw wait times generally fall.
- Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster — 66 Minutes
- Slinky Dog Dash — 63 minutes
- Rise of the Resistance — 55 minutes
- Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run — 44 minutes
- Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway — 43 minutes

Did Peter Pans Flight close? Couldn’t find it listed on your wait times list. It’s usually one of the worst.

I was at WDW this week, and I noticed that almost no line was as long as the posted time. I don’t know if that’s intentional, or they weren’t measuring well because of the new lightning lane system, but every posted time was longer than the actual wait ( we used a stop watch).

Hi Gary! Peter Pan’s Flight has been closed for refurbishment since July 8th and is expected to reopen on August 21st. 🙂
