Aren’t you just itchin’ to set sail aboard the Disney Treasure?
When you think about this being the sixth (!!) ship coming to the Disney Cruise Line fleet and all that we’re going to experience, like the Haunted Mansion Parlor and Jungle Cruise-inspired bar, we’re just over the moon with excitement. But before we go off into the stratosphere, we wanted to dive in and share all we know about a particular lounge that’s got all of us ready to be a cat. That’s right. We’re talking about the Aristocats-themed lounge! Let’s go!
In case you missed it, back at the end of June 2024, Disney announced that the Treasure will have a a jazz club-style lounge themed after the 1970 animated classic The Aristocats. That new lounge will be called the Scat Cat Lounge.
This new lounge takes specific inspiration from the film’s “Ev’rybody Wants to be a Cat” sequence. Those words will be immortalized with a black-and-white statement wall and a groovy neon sign with the lyrics right in the center of the lounge.
You’ll notice that many of the design cues for the lounge come from the Treasure’s Agrabah-inspired Grand Hall, like the complementary color palette and Middle Eastern décor that will “blend seamlessly” with the venue’s Aristocats theme.
There are direct references to the film, such as a subtle “parade of silhouetted cats, all representing characters from the film” that “will welcome guests to Scat Cat Lounge at the entry and lead the way into the venue.” Also, Disney Shared that the lounge’s distinct carpet is inspired by the “ornate French style rugs scattered throughout Madame Adelaide Bonfamille’s swanky Parisian home.”
If you take a closer look at the lounge’s piano, you’ll see colorful paw marks in paint, which is a reference to the scene in the film where Toulouse leaves similar prints on a piano.
You’ll want to keep an eye out for other references to the film, such as a door handle modeled after Scat Cat’s “signature instrument” at the entrance, and hidden depictions of Roquefort, “the devoted mouse companion of Duchess and her kittens.”
Disney isn’t going to just feature references related to the film in this lounge. They will also be including a poster outside of the lounge that will feature a group of cats playing instruments. But here’s the kicker — Disney shared that “Each cat depicted in the artwork will be drawn in the image of a beloved pet belonging to someone from the project team that helped design and build Scat Cat Lounge.”
The last thing we need to talk about are some of the drinks that will be on the menu — the Créme de la Créme Martini, The Cat Drink, and the Turkish Tea Experience.
- The Créme de la Créme Martini is infused with cognac, chocolate and a nutmeg topping.
- The Cat Drink will have clarified bourbon, amaro, Aperol, and fresh lemon.
- The Turkish Tea Experience, is a tea-based cocktail for two or more guests.
Truly, we can’t wait to experience this brand-new lounge and all it has to offer!

Winston Warrington says
I find it interesting that Disney’s new cruise ships effectively leverage its classic content, but its parks fail at every opportunity. Maybe it’s time to fire the hackneyed park imagineers and replace them with some of the more talented folks working on Disney’s cruise ships.
How a company with the most extensive and valuable catalog of content in the world cannot manage to successfully leverage it defies logic. That does however explain why Disney’s stock has effectively flatlined for a decade…. Talk about failure at the top…
