Can you believe it? The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is almost here!
EPCOT is hosting this year’s event from August 29th through November 23rd, 2024. There’s going to be so many amazing booths and all kinds of entertainment — We’re so stoked to experience everything! That being said, there is something about the festival this year that’s really ramping up our anxiety to 11, so let’s talk about it!
As we said, the 2024 Food & Wine Festival is being held from August 29th through November 23rd and in general, we couldn’t be more stoked for it! But this year, there is one thing that causing us to feel quite a bit anxious about the festival and that is the CommuniCore Hall.
As you know, basically the whole purpose for Disney constructing CommuniCore Hall and Plaza was for them to be used as flex spaces during EPCOT’s many festivals throughout the year. CommuniCore Plaza is the outdoor area that is designed to be used for band performances.
And CommuniCore Hall is the indoor area (flex space) for the festivals.
Now, the final product definitely lacked a lot of the life and color we saw in the concept art.
Essentially, at the moment, Communicore Hall look like a large open space with a couple of chairs and tables, and banners, and that’s actually what’s causing our anxiety to flare up. Can you guess why? We’re talking about the noise and the crowds (we’re already overwhelmed thinking about it).
So let’s set the stage: imagine you’re trying to enjoy a delicate bite of sushi or savor the rich flavors of a French pastry, but all you can hear is the constant, growing buzz of chatter, clinking glasses, and the shriek of an overexcited guest. Sounds kind of overwhelming, right?
Now talking about crowds, if you’ve been to the Food and Wine Festival, you know about the sheer number of people that flock to EPCOT. Food and Wine is always a popular event, but this new central hub is probably going to draw even more visitors.
Getting to share our Disney adventures with other Disney fans is great and all, but there’s a limit to how many people you can comfortably bump elbows with while trying to eat your favorite festival snacks. Being that this will be the first time Disney will use the CommuniCore Hall for the Food and Wine Festival, we have no idea how they will manage the crowds and noise level while keeping the atmosphere very pleasant. Here’s hoping it turns out to be more “magical” than “manic.”
