Disney World restaurants are changing ALL the time.
New restaurants open, old restaurants close, and restaurants often get updated menus. We tend to track any and all changes when it comes to Disney World food. Now, this is the time of the year when we start seeing price increases affect nearly ALL Disney World restaurants, and it seems like it’s beginning now with two VERY popular dining spots in the France Pavili0n in EPCOT.
First, we noticed some price increases for L’Artisan des Glaces — yep, those delicious ice cream scoops and desserts will set you back a bit more now. Let’s start with the changes for Ice Cream Scoops:
- Single Scoop changed from $5.75 to $7.95
- Double Scoop changed from $7.95 to $9.95
Yep, we’re seeing price increases of $2 and more! However, you can also now get Flavored Waffle Cones for $2.
Some of our favorite ice cream snacks are also now a bit pricier:
- Macaron changed from $7 to $8.95
- Croque Glacé changed from $9.50 to $10.95
- Coupe du Dimanche changed from $9.95 to $10.95
There have even been some changes with flavors: Candied Peanuts with Chocolate Peanut Fudge Ice Cream has been removed and Praline has been added. Note that our beloved ice cream martinis are safe from price increases…for now.
However, this isn’t the only dining spot in France to see price increases. Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie, one of our favorite spots to grab an inexpensive lunch, is getting more expensive:
- Viennoiserie Pomme changed from $4.95 to $5.95
- Patisserie a l’abricot changed from $4.95 to $5.95
- Croissant Amandes changed from $6.25 to $6.75
- Framboise changed from $7.40 to $7.50
A new snack was added, too: Tarte au Citron for $6.95.
Under drinks, Lait au Chocolat has been removed from the menu, while Café Liegois for $7.50 has been added.
This comes after a recent study discovered that prices for some popular Disney World food items increased by an average of 61% since 2014. With the rate of inflation at 32%, this means that the price for Disney food has been going up almost DOUBLE the pace of inflation. Food prices are even increasing at a higher rate that park ticket prices. You can read more about that here.
We can imagine that this is just the first of many price increases we’ll be seeing at Disney World restaurants soon, so stay tuned to DFB for more — we’ll be sure to keep you updated.

We know that 60% of the higher prices we’re paying in general are due to corporate greed- Greedflation. Walmart, Publix profits up 49% and 52% in the last 2 years. Apparently Disney is following suit. So disappointing.

They just don’t see the writing on the wall , pretty soon they will price themselves out of existence. I for one will not be returning.
Terry B says
As reported in the Wall Street Journal, Disney reported low attendance and earnings for the theme parks in the recent quarter. Perhaps the high prices are finally catching up with them? I mean, really, you’re talking about $40 for a family of four to just get an afternoon ice cream snack? Outrageous.
Tim says
Outrageous. But gotta keep the shareholders happy since their movies and streaming mostly are flopping any more.
Lori Rienhardt says
Wow!!! When Disney says price hikes they go all in.
Debbie says
Now even a single scoop of ice cream won’t likely be considered a snack for the dining plan because it’s over that 6 dollar threshold. Hey DFB, can you share an updated list of snacks that are really good value when using the dining plan? I don’t want to just have mickey bars and churros using the plan. I need more bang for my buck.
Dennis Smith says
The prices increase are understandable even though I don’t like them. Inflation is hurting us all. But the increase are steep. Why not ease into it versus hitting us with a $2.00 or more increase. That’s a bit much.
Roz says
ANOTHER INE BITES THE DUST ! DISNEY HAS GONE CRAZY 🤪 NO WINDER ATTENDANCE IS DOWN ! PEOPLE ARE FED UP ! RIDICULOUS 😡
Dottyanna says
HOW do you justify a 25% increase on already overpriced food items?
Sue says
Just how much more can Disney increase prices . 😱
We are DVC members from the U K and have been able to come to wdw every year since 2001 ( except covid ) . Disney is pricing these holidays out of our budget and I’m sure many hardworking normal wages people ( teachers ) like us can no longer come . We hope to come once every 3 years now but will we ???? Crazy prices / no free fastpass / no free transport to wdw from mco . This could be the end of an era for us and DVC May be sold . Come on Disney think of Walt “ a holiday place for everyone “ not the super rich !!!
Rick G says
It is just a Shame that they just keep Taking Away one thing after another, And then just keep Raising Prices for everything Else!! No Magic BUS, No FREE Fast-Pass, Expensive Park Tickets, $700 a night at most Deluxe Hotels, and the list goes On. The Government is trying to Help INFLATION and Disney is More than Doubling Restaurant Prices! Poor Walt Disney rolling over with they are ruining everything for Families.
David says
We enjoyed the ice cream in France, but it already expensive at $5.95 for one scoop, $7.95 is approaching the point of why bother. Maybe getting the two scoop of ice cream and splitting it with my wife.
Mike says
Disney is out of control what do they do when it’s too expensive they keep raising prices to offset the lack of people going
Heidi says
Whose decision to go up?Frances pavilion or Disney or both?
mike says
Outrageous. Makes the purchase feel like you’re being ripped off and taken advantage of.
Lily D says
When will Disney Parks stop gouging families? We used to go every year and now haven’t been there since 2020. The constant price increases in tickets, food and park hotels take away the joy and magic of DIsney. It’s sad!
Carlton says
A $2+ increase for a scoop of ice cream is ridiculous. Considered it a splurge when it was $5 for a scoop. Definitely not worth $8!
Janet says
Wow. Those are some hefty price increases.
Elizabeth says
At this point, the only way a trip to WDW is affordable is to rent a suite with a kitchen outside of the Disney bubble, eat breakfast and a late snack in our suite, bring snacks and refillable water bottles in our backpacks, and just eat two healthy snacks at the parks. Thankfully, my children have outgrown the need for Disney toys and costumes, so we just skip buying souvenirs. We take our own photos with our cellphones. And we skip park hopping. There is plenty to do, even if we don’t get on all of the rides.
David Florence says
Why is no one going to Disney any more? Simple paying additional $2 for an ice cream is verging on criminal. Disney makes the Pirates of the Caribbean look like saints
pattie says
There is no reason that can b justified for these increases there r lots of people that have went n to debt to go to Disney for the avarege person it’s too costly to go to Disney anymore disney has ruined it for people that can’t afford it and they r serving the ones that can spend the money especially the ones that visit from other countries and have done us annual Passholders dirty and we live out of state so airfare and having to get transportation to stay at the resort and the increase just to stay at the all star movies is too much we will now return and we have coming to Disney since 1978 when it was only the magic kingdom and we have been there over 100 times because that’s where we always wanted to go to
Chloe says
It doesn’t help that the minimum wage at Disney is now $18 an hour, it used to be about $8.50-$10 to so this is where these price increases are coming from.
If they have to pay their staff nearly double they can’t keep prices the same.
Sad people voting for that minimum wage increase couldn’t see that coming.
pattie says
R u being serious to say the cheap wage they pay disney employees r the blame for the high price to go to Disney that is ridiculous it’s called corporate greed and we all know we have been going there since 1978 and live out of state with annuals when it was only magic kingdom and for people to have to pay to get on rides faster is GREED after whey pay just to walk thru the turnstiles and food prices and have shut out a lot of people that can’t go there and m case u don’t k ow a lot of people have went n to credit card debt to go there and the powers that b DO NOT CARE they have to line their pockets and the stock holders there is no way I will give Disney an ok they have destroyed Walt Disneys dream and that is a disgrace to his memory and it started with a mouse with Disney it’s all about the money and not the fact that so many people can’t go and enjoy Walt Disneys dream and how sad that is
pattie says
The Disney employees should b making no less than $30.00 an hour u should try and live on what they make now and to say that the people that voted for wage increase should have thought about it more before they gave their ok is ridiculous the Disney employees work hard for their money and have to deal with all kinds of people and even have had to break up fights n the parks and we have seen that and people being rude to them one employee got spit on how disrespectful and we will always stand up for the Disney employees
Geezguys says
Disney executives desperately need to read the comments on posts like this. They seem clueless.
