International travel is becoming widely popular again four years past the COVID-19 pandemic.
Disney has several international destinations including theme parks and cruise ports. Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disney, Shanghai Disneyland, and Hong Kong Disneyland are all international theme parks you can visit, while you can cruise to The Bahamas at Castaway Cay or Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. But before you head to any of these international destinations, it’s important to do your research! We took a look at the latest travel advisories for each of the international Disney destinations, and we noted a few increased levels that we’re sharing with you.
Disney works hard to be sure you have a fun and safe trip at all of their destinations. Even though Disney parks are safe, you have to enter and travel through the international country each is in. And in the case of cruise line destinations, you may have access to other experiences that aren’t controlled by Disney. So it’s always a good idea to be well prepared for the area you are planning to visit.
The Bahamas continue to be at a Level 2 Travel Advisory which indicates travelers should exercise increased caution. This does not mean you cannot go to The Bahamas, it simply means that you should understand that something has happened in that country that increases the threat to tourists. In the case of The Bahamas, there is a level 2 advisory due to crime in the area.
China, where two Disney parks are located, also has an increased level of advisory. In Hong Kong, there is a Level 2 Threat Advisory, while in mainland China (where Shanghai is) there is a Level 3 Threat Advisory (Reconsider Travel).
If you’re planning a trip to Disneyland Paris, note that France also has a Level 2 Exercise Increased Caution travel advisory. The increased risk is due to terrorist activity being possible, incidents such as pickpocketing and phone snatching, and regular peaceful demonstrations and strikes throughout the country.
